Stepping Stones Academy

My daughter started at stepping stones when she was just two months old. Ms. Melissa, Ms. Tiana and Ms. Britany were great with her and helped me with the transition back to work. She transitioned to the toddler room this past summer and again the teachers were great!!! My daughter loves all the teachers and especially the director!!! There is nothing better than knowing that your child is not only safe but is being cared for and loved. The updates and pictures don’t hurt either. I love seeing what my girl is doing while I’m at work. If we didn’t have to PCS I would have kept her at Stepping Stones until she was ready to start school. Stepping Stones was her home away from home. I would recommend to anyone!!!!

My four year old son had such a positive experience at Stepping Stones, Waipahu. In fact there were some days when I went to pick him up and he said he wanted to stay so he can sing and dance with his classmates! What I appreciated as a working parent was the ability to "see" my son through the emails that were sent, and I could get a sense of how he was doing through the daily reports which where awesome! Each week I brought home his artwork, which were so lovely, not just paper with some random paint on it, but beautiful, thoughtful creations that were related to the curriculum; my son was always so proud to bring them home and show them off. His teacher Ms. Ruby was attentive, caring, and meticulous, and Charlotte is welcoming, cheerful, and warm-hearted— I adore this gem of a place in Waipahu!

We highly recommend SSA-Kaka’ako infant room! Our daughter joined when she was 4 months old. We’re new parents and the thought of leaving our child with someone other than us for the work day was scary. We were probably more nervous than she was, and the staff were so understanding. We went to the required orientation for 3 mornings to ease the transition. Staff encouraged us to drop in to see how our daughter was doing or call if we wanted during the day.

On our first day there were many tears...from us...not our daughter. The staff were great. Ms. Lei, Ms. Dee and Ms. Renee understood and provided much needed support!

If you want excellent, quality childcare Stepping Stones Academy is the place to send your children. The staff are all hardworking, patient, attentive, & caring workers. My kids have been attending the Waipahu location for 5 months now & there hasn’t been a day where they weren’t greeted by their name. The entry to the school is gated with a code to get in & check in/out system is done through fingerprinting ensuring my children’s safety. They use parent post so we’re always updated on what my kids are doing in school, what they eat, how many times they go to the bathroom & best of all PICTURES. The director Ms. Charlotte is the BEST! She is very open, all questions or concerns are answered on the spot & she is on top of everything that goes on at the school. For a 1st time mom having your child go to school or daycare for the 1st time can be a scary experience! Stepping Stones for us eased our fears and provided a safe, loving and fun place for our daughter to begin her learning. We would definitely recommend Stepping Stones to other families and will definitely have our second daughter go there in the future. Ms Charlotte and Ms Rena have provided loving learning care for our daughter in the 1st stages of her learning.

My daughter started going to Steppjng Stones Aiea when I went back to work. About a month or two later, the Waipahu branch opened which was much more convenient to get to. My daughter’s transition was a positive one. The staff were very attentive to her needs and mine during drop off. I can tell my daughter really enjoys “school” because she is constantly talking about her friends/teachers and asking for them when she doesn’t go. We are now moving to the mainland and so are having to say goodbye. Much mahalos to the staff for taking such good care of my little girl and helping her blossom into the toddler that she is today!

She took about 2 weeks to transition from being with mom all day to a full day at daycare but the teachers had good advice and tips to help her adjust and enjoy her day there. The teachers in the infant room, including Ms. Christie, Ms. Renee, Ms. Lei, Ms. Shannon and Ms. Daneen were all very caring and compassionate and brought joy to my daughter as evident in her smiling and recognizing them when she sees her old teachers. Her current teachers in the Toddler 2 level are also just as caring and she is very happy with Ms. Cheryl, Ms. T, Ms. Tamika, Ms. Keri, Ms. Stacia and Ms. Kiesha, Also, the director, Ms. Kieran is very caring and...

Our son attending Stepping Stones Academy has been the best experience for our family. He started attending when he was 7 months old. His infant room teachers are the most caring and nurturing people you could hope for. They made him feel safe and secure which meant he was able to focus on all the fun sensory activities they planned and socializing with the other babies. They were so good about communicating with us about how our sons day was. I was nervous when the time came transition him to the 1-year-old room and the staff at Stepping Stones helped us through that transition at a pace we were comfortable with. His teachers in the toddler class are amazing! He talks about them a lot when he is at home.
