My Mom passed earlier this month. She was not the type to plan ahead so after her passing, we didn't know where to turn. Through a friend we were connected with Bill at Saunders-Dwyer Funeral Home. Bill met with us the same day and made a very emotional time as easy as possible. He made recommendations, listened to our concerns/wishes, and went above and beyond to make such an overwhelming situation go seamless. After that first shocking day, there were still loose ends to tie up. Mom had some unique final wishes that Saunders-Dwyer met and didn't judge!! I cannot thank the whole staff enough for their attention, professionalism and empathy during such a difficult time. I highly recommend Saunders-Dwyer Funeral Home for their care and compassion! Sadly this is my 3rd time working with Saunders in Mattapoisett. Bill was amazing with us each time. During the most difficult time in your life it’s a blessing to have someone so professional to guide us through the steps. The rooms are absolutely beautiful here. Saunders-Dwyer Funeral Home went above and beyond for my family. At a time when we were broken and unsure of what to do, they validated our experience and gave us guidance. Because of them we were able to honor and take care of our loved one in the last act of kindness we could do for him. I can't thank Bill and the whole staff enough.

Saunders was excellent to work with. We had to plan the funeral for my parents from Atlanta, transfer remains, interact with the VA and honor guard and they seamlessly handled it all. They even helped me chose the plot over zoom as I couldn’t make a separate trip up to New Bedford. Highly recommend Bill and his son Will.
