RTD Ice Dam Removal

$450 an hour for a couple of $20 guys and a broken down mini van. Opportunistic company taking advantage of desperate people. What comes around goes around. $2500 a day and only 30” of ice dam removed. Too rich for my blood. Owner must have a nice house in the Bahamas. Good luck!

The guys came out and did I great job, I have no complaints with the work that was done. I guess if I have any complaints, it would be the cost. $550.00 an hour is a lot of money for me (they were here for 4 hours). I wonder if different heights of the roof would be considered? My house is not that big! As I said, the cost is my only complaint.

RTD does great work. I've used their services for plowing already and was glad to learn that they also had ice dam removal service. RTD can be trusted and they do great work. I'm very pleased with the level of service I've received over the past couple of years and will continue to be a loyal client.

RTD Ice Dam Removal was quick to respond to my request, and their service was great. They helped me work out a plan within my budget that eliminated the dam above our kitchen that was causing the most concern. They worked happily in freezing conditions and were polite and understanding the whole time. Would strongly recommend!

The people who did the work were great and did a great job. The price was too high.

The did the work as described, however, the only have one tech working at a time and it is a VERY slow process. Charging $500+/hr. when you only have one person working is incredibly expensive. I had to stop them after 3 hours of work because I knew I couldn't afford them to continue (I was ultimately billed $2200 for the job). In the 3 hours they worked they completed the front of the house and had just started on the back. Also, because of how this process works (hot water used to melt the ice dam) when they leave your entire property turns into a skating rink.

The ice dam removal work itself was good and there were no issues. The reason for the 2/5 star review is for the overall experience and expectations that were not met. The two technicians that did our roof were not very professional and I could hear them arguing with each other most of the time they were at our house. Their machine broke halfway through the appointment so they had to go back to the shop to get a new machine. Also, when I asked for their professional opinion or recommendations on what areas to take care of they immediately shut me down and would not provide any guidance. That was a bit frustrating. Finally, I did not expect it to take so long to remove such a small amount of ice. I expected the whole house to be cleared out within a couple hours. I asked how much they could get done and they wouldn't answer.

The employees showed up as promised and took care of my ice dams. The guys were polite and efficient. I would hire them again!
