RTD Ice Dam Removal

Only good thing was the prompt service. Workers were unable to offer any judgment as to where to focus their removal efforts to solve the matter of seepage into the living room fireplace. At my request removed an ice dam in the gutter next to the chimney. However water still seeped through the living room fireplace the next day. Likely problem was an ice dam invisible to me behind the chimney. Took over three hours to remove dam. Was told later by the company that will soon replace the roof that they could have removed the ice in 20 minutes. $2100 wasted

While I'm glad they were able to come out on short notice, I was disappointed in the overall service (and I've had ice dams removed before, so I'm not naive to the process). I had a total of three dams (of varying degrees of concern). In the interest of time, I wanted them to focus on two specific areas. The most important dam was indeed addressed, but I discovered they skipped the second one -- and instead focused on a large icicle that wasn't posing a significant risk to my home (the location didn't concern me, compared to the other one that I had instructed them to address). Once I discovered this I asked the team to stop. But I feel strange that I refer to them as a team, for the simple reason that one worker did most of the grunt work, while the other smoked cigarettes in my back alley. I was disappointed to see the cigarette butts in my drive after they had left.

I was able to get next-day service, which I greatly appreciated. Eric (sp?) and his coworker arrived at 7:30am. Got set up quickly and got to work. They worked hard and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time. They did excellent work. I should also mention that they were very professional and courteous.

The reason I have not given a review is because my experience was not all that good. While rtd did ultimately fix the issue it was a pretty big hassle and the overall work was not worth the money they charged. On top of it the guy left my water spigot running after he left in mid winter. So maybe if you don’t get a review after you have sent two emails, you’d be better off letting those people pass.

They came, they saw, they conquered! Huge ice dam on the north side of our house was removed effectively preventing further damage inside. They are professional and mostly timely - we had a hard time scheduling because it was in the midst of the ice dam apocalypse around here. I would have given them 5 stars if they had cleaned up the sidewalk where huge chunks of heavy ice were left.

They showed up promptly. Worked quickly and efficiently. No complaints. Job done.

Great customer service and great work!

The ice removal people were very professional and courteous. They did a fantastic job of removing the icicles and snow dams from our house.

Called to schedule service, was quoted an hourly rate. When I received my invoice the rate had been increased. Followed up to inquire and ask that the total on the invoice be updated to reflect the quoted rate, and never got a response. Poor customer service. Other than that, the technicians did a nice job with the removal, no complaints on that end.

It was pricey. I was told you had 4 man teams to do ice removal. 2 came. It took them 20 min to set up machine (easy electrical and water access. I had a lot of snow. I originally said 2 hours. But they only had half of the eaves/gutter icicles off back. So I authorized a third hour. There were no large ice chunks off roof. All done on a ladder by 1 person. I did get minimal roof raking on the front house. No ice removal from front. They were careful of my heat tape. They did trade off the dam removal work. Sat in their car at times. It was a bitter cold day. They were polite. I did question the 20 min set up time and he made a slight adjustment to that I appreciated the availability to do the work a few days after my call.
