From my initial meeting with a Newton Group representative to the final call informing me know I no longer am legally responsible for a timeshare purchased in 1985, I was kept apprised of the steps being taken to accomplish the end of my timeshare contract. We had tried to divest ourselves of our timeshare points with another company that went belly up. We were skeptical yet hopeful when we received a letter from Newton Group that claimed that they could help us get rid of our timeshare. We decided to go to the lecture nearby where we live. The sales person was well prepared with statistics, names and phone numbers of people who they had helped to dissolve relationships with their unwanted timeshares. We spoke with four different people via phone. All of them spoke highly of Newton Group. I have to start by saying that I really loved my timeshares and we did travel on them a lot. That being said, by January of 2017, I had maintenance fees due in excess of $4500. This had steadily gone up over the course of many years. I could not imagine continuing to pay this, and more as time went on, and I certainly was not going to burden my kids with this debt in the future. Everything they say they will do they do. We wasted so much time trying to give the timeshares away we posted on several sites and even offered to pay the closing costs, no one responded. I called several companies willing to sell our timeshares for an upfront cost, how do you sell something that you can’t even give away. This company was fantastic, called, kept us updated and bottom line we no longer are the owners of a timeshare. We recommended this company to our good friends.
