New Hope Acupuncture and Wellness

First time doing acupuncture and had a great experience. I was recommended to do acupuncture pre and post IVF in addition to my other fertility appointments. I was so lucky to find New Hope locally in Acton. She was really knowledgeable and considerate of my early pregnancy symptoms and was helpful in getting relief and helping me safety through the first 16w. I would recommend for any fertility journey, not just IVF.

The acupuncture treatment was very effective! I had persistent headaches that didn’t want to go away, but after around two rounds of acupuncture they stopped entirely and haven’t come back. All staff are very nice and extremely thorough. Treatment is also very adaptable; before each session there is a back and forth check-up about your current health and so the treatment every time is adjusted to meet the most recent changes in your health situation, making treatment especially effective. For instance, I had initially gone to cure my headaches but the doctor also helped get rid of a very bad cold I suffered from during one specific week during treatment. All in all, great experience, would recommend.

Dr. Shu is very knowledgeable. I had a lower back pain with no acupuncture experience before seeing her. She talked with me for half an hour to understand my health situation before starting the procedure. She told me my kidney and stomach do not rest well at night, by looking at my face and tongue (which is true because I stayed late at night, had a kidney stone and a stomach issue before). She used her palm to press my chest and abdomen and finger to pinch my hand & foot, and based on my feelings, she told me which organs I need to pay attention to. Her explanation makes perfect sense, and the treatment made me feel very relaxed (I felt some warm water flowing under my back although there was no water at all). When I shared my amazing experience with my coworkers at lunch, two of them told me they visited Dr. Shu before and had the same positive experience. Highly recommend!!

Dr. Shu is excellent, and I highly recommend New Hope Acupuncture and Wellness. What I appreciate most is how caring and thorough Dr. Shu is. She asks about previous symptoms and how I am feeling at the start of each appointment. Though the practice is busy, my appointments never feel rushed. Dr. Shu takes her time and I leave the office feeling great. The staff there is wonderful, too.

My original health concern was plantar fasciitis, which I had for almost a year. Dr. Shu treated it and I'm now 100% pain-free. I had tried PT and going to the podiatrist, but neither made it better.

Dr. Shu is one of the best doctors I ever met. She is caring, empathetic and most importantly you get to establish a connection with her and trust her! I suffered severe finger stiffness for about half year, visited couple specialists and did a lot of tests, nothing found. I am so happy that I found my favorite acupuncture in action. She is very professional and take her time and listen to you. Today was my day 3 of my acupuncture and I already feel so much better. I had a terrible chest pain when I was waking up and since I have started my treatment it is already gone and I sleep so much better.
