Experienced lower back pain for over half a year had tried orthopedic massages for many times and didn't help, and pain was progressing. The first treatment already had improvements. I was referred to New Hope Acupuncture by a friend while seeking help with my back and shoulder pain. The pain had lasted for a month or so which had really impacted my life quality. I went to my PCP, had blood test and X-ray done, which didn't reveal any issues. I took pain reliver medicines but that didn't really help. So, I turned to Chinese acupuncture with Ms. Shu, and my pain was greatly reduced after the first treatment. I had seen other acupunctures before, and I can tell that Ms. Shu is very good at what she does. I would recommend New Hope to anyone who suffers chronic pains.

I have had 9 acupuncture sessions so far for chronic back pain with sciatic nerve symptoms as well as chronic insomnia. I decided to try this instead of a second epidural steroid injection. Overall my symptoms have improved despite having to drive at least an hour each way to work and having to sit for most of the day. Both sitting and driving have historically been the worst activities for me. Insomnia is multifactorial for me and I do take medication, but overall my sleep has been more consistent. I tried acupuncture approximately one year ago, but only noticed very temporary relief. Dr. Shu's treatment has been much more effective! I plan to continue for another month (or as long as my insurance will continue covering the sessions). The office is a bit of a drive for me, but it is worth it to receive quality care.

I came to Dr. Shu for acupuncture during my postpartum recovery when I was struggling with poor sleep, low energy, and overall discomfort. Her treatments are incredibly relaxing — truly comparable to a spa experience — and the effects last well beyond the session. In the following day or two, I always feel noticeably more refreshed, calmer, and mentally clearer.
