I requested a technician to come to my residence and prepare an estimate for an electric gate. I have been in construction all my life and this is how I prepare an informative bid. Materials, Time, Labor. Regrettably, I had no such experience with the technician who showed up. I outlined very clearly what I wanted from every aspect of the installation requirements. He jotted down a sketched diagram and then told me what the price was if I ordered today. 65% higher than the next costly bid I have received. In addition when I asked him to prepare an estimate he said; "This is the price for today, take it or leave it. No estimate to be provided.
