I had nothing but a good experience from start to finish. Alex was very courteous on the phone when I called to book my appointment and he went over my options with me when I explained that I'd prefer to pay cash. I chose to come in the night before my surgery so I wouldn't be so rushed the day of. They booked my hotel for me and all I had to do was pay for it when I arrived, which was less than $100 USD. I travelled from Canada to the USA and then transitioned into Tijuana through San Diego. My driver was on time and was super friendly, pointing out all the sights on the way to the hospital. I was able to get some pre-op testing done the day before as I had arrived early enough. The driver then took me to the hotel and another driver was there to get me in the morning. Like most, I was nervous about going to Mexico for surgery but from the moment I was picked up in SD I felt safe and important. The drivers, nurses and Dr. Illan were kind and attentive at all times. I wad kept informed about the process and I forever grateful for everything. They truly made me feel like I made the right choice.

I recently had a mommy makeover (breast lift, augmentation, lipo, tummy tuck, and bbl). My experience from start to finish was AMAZING. This is my 2nd time back. I had gastric bypass in May 2020 and because that experience was so great, I came back for plastics. The staff, the facility, the food, and the care were incredible. I have recommended this place to several people and my friend and niece will be going next year for weight loss surgery. My mom is a retired ER nurse and she came as my companion. She was very weary of me having such major surgery done in another country, but in both instances she was amazed at the level of care and attentiveness by the staff and the Doctors. I highly recommend Hospital BC to anyone interested in weight loss surgery or plastics. You will not be disappointed. I am VERY happy with my results and my experience.

I had Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) surgery via Dr. Illan at Hospital BC in August 2020. The experience at Hospital BC is exceptional, in fact the entire ‘process’ of qualifying, shuttle to and from San Diego airport, level of care, etc. is exemplary. Dr. Illan is world class at what he does, as is his anesthesiologist Dr. Curiel, and I selected them vs. a United States surgical team for that reason alone. This is a “lifetime” procedure that needs to be completed with expertise. The high level of care at Hospital BC is icing on the cake. Highly recommended!

This is my third five star review at the end of my third 5 star experience. In July 2019 my wife had MGB and we had a wonderful experience. On November 13, 2019 I have a gastric sleeve (it wasn't safe for me to have an MGB yet) and lost 80 pounds. Exactly one year later on Nov 13, 2020, amidst Covid and a crazy world, I had the MGB I originally wanted and look forward to losing another 80 to 100 pounds. First, all three procedures and all the travel cost less than one gastric bypass in Georgia where I live, with a far less eminently qualified surgeon. Second, due to family health conditions, I have spent a lot of time in some of the top rated hospitals in the US including Emory and Northside. The best bariatric surgery center in Tijuana. Private hospital & private rooms. Dr. Illan, Dr. Ampudia, Stacy, Bill, nurses, valets & drivers are all amazing! My husband & I are both patients and have had so many friends & coworkers have their surgery here as well. I’m on my 3rd trip here this year. I can’t say enough about them. Prices are great and the support you receive before, during and after your procedure is hands down the best in Mexico.
