Extreme hunting drive and desire, affectionate indoor pet, off-the-charts bird-sensitive nose, loving companion, best retriever I’ve ever seen, a want-to-be with you dog (don’t get in that truck without me), a pointing dog (I didn’t really believe a lab would point when I got him but he does without a doubt — pheasants and quail right off his nose following my step in after his point), constant “check-in, look-back” to me/hunter (even in can’t-see-you heavy cover), hunts birds dead (and finds them) even when he has not seen the bird down. I acquired him from Tim in August, when he was fullly trained at a little over 2 years old. So I’ve only had him during this 2020 season but he’s a pro, and I will never buy another line of hunting lab. My first call with Tim was really good. He asked questions about what we were looking for and worked with us on a pick up date for the puppy since we couldn't get him right away. During this time he sent me pictures and updates on our puppy which was so nice. The day we picked him up he was so happy to see us. He had all of his shots and was in great health. We want to have him hunt with the other 2 dogs we have. He's such a lovable dog and loves to play with us and the other 2 dogs. I would recommend Iowa Pointing Labs!

Tim and his staff are very knowledgeable in the process of picking the right genetics so the puppy you get will work well for the results you are after. I also am excited about the head start training program they have developed. This program gives the new owner a puppy with a solid baseline of skills for the owner to work off of.

Great people that know tons about dogs. I have a 2 year old I bought from them at 9 weeks old he was already head started training Great around my kids and catching onto everything we train him on.

Great people to work with and awesome dogs. They helped me receive an amazing puppy who is training well and learning fast. 100% recommend the headstart program for a well behaved puppy who is ready to learn.

Temperament 5/5 she is a wonderful companion great around strangers and other dogs. Wants nothing more than to hang out with you for the day
Trainability 5/5 she wants nothing more than to please you. Very quick at learning new things. Handles pressure very well. Deals well when I get frustrated from time to time. I couldn't be more pleased.
Pointing 1/5 dog doesn't naturally point. Being whoa broke to stop at first scent is not pointing. I should have paid closer attention to the videos, looking back many of these dogs are pointing birds 8 inches away. I have a gsp. He points. There is no comparison between the 2
