Owner is a liar. Paid $7k to get a pregnant puppy back from training. Was promised another puppy to make it right. Never happened. Sounds like they closed down. Well deserved.

Yesterday was our Iowa Pointing Labs pup's 4th birthday. She was a "COVID puppy" who joined us when we were isolating at home and I could no longer resist my husband's longing for a dog. I wanted a smaller, non-shedding breed. He wanted nothing but a lab. Now I know why; I am totally smitten with Sami. She has a beautiful face and is healthy, fit, active, quiet and an engaging companion. At 65 pounds, she's not a "big dog." My husband thought he'd hunt with Sami as he did with his previous labs, but that hasn't happened...though I have no doubt Sami would do well. She loves being outside and spends most of her days patrolling our 1 acre yard (with invisible fence.) She loves being given a command to chase the deer off our property. Alright, I’m sure that there’s others who have had better luck getting a puppy from here than my wife and I. Let me start this review by first talking about what was done right, following what was done wrong, and summarizing with how I think it could have been better.

What was done right:
1. The head-start program seemed well worth the money. Our pup knew how to sit and retrieve on a basic level.

What wasn’t right.

There was an injury on his paw or something wrong that was never shown to us and we didn’t see it when we picked him up. We have had to take him to the vet several times because it swels up and he licks it and bleeds. See the photo I posted.

1. Bad communication. First off, we called days ahead of time to try to reschedule because there was a winter storm warning on the day we were scheduled to pick our pup up. We...

Total scam. I put a $1000 deposit on a pup in July that was supposed to be trained to a started dog. There is no dog, they have blocked my number, and will not return my refund. Very disappointed. I got a pup from them 10 years ago and got along great. But this time they took my money and ran. Don’t do business with these people. They are criminals and con artists.

Can't recommend IPL enough! Rocky has been a fantastic pup! He was a pup from Emma and Blaze. He's only 10 months currently and is already fantastic in the field. His first season and his points are already rock-hard, he patterns incredibly well, and has been great on retrieves. If you're on the fence about having Icber train your pup from them, do it! This dog is miles ahead of where he would be without his training. It is clear how well the dog liked him when I came to work with him. Also this dog has a great off switch at home, even with our kids tackling and wrestling with him! Highly recommend Iowa Pointing Labs for your next dog!

I am not typically one to write a review. Normally, if I have an issue with a business I take it up with the business instead of immediately blasting them on the internet (no human is perfect, and I feel it is important to resolve issues between the affected parties). Unfortunately, after attempting to resolve the issues directly and only receiving months of lack of communication, breaking agreements, blocking my number, and then when I finally get a hold of them on another number cursing me out, I feel as if I have no choice.

I would not recommend IPL for anything. I was just like you - I did my research, I read the good and bad reviews. I went to their website and social media. Everything looked great and the pups were exactly what I was looking for. Turns out it is all smoke and mirrors. They do not follow through with what they say is included online and when you call...

Lied and cheated many people out of dogs then when they’re caught the owner won’t own up to their mistakes. They will block you and cuss you out if you prove them wrong!

Great people to work with! Quality dogs that are well trained.

Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a hunting dog or an amazing dog in the home. I purchased a Black female a month ago, and Karissa is amazing at explaining everything and answering all of my questions. Amazing dogs amazing people that love and care about their dogs.
