The doctor explained the anesthesia process in some detail. One of the nurses asked about a nerve block, but the doctor said no. He didn't tell me why a block wasn't appropriate, but I wonder whether that procedure would have alleviated some of the extreme after-surgery pain.

The anesthesia did not work and I ended up undergoing surgery awake and in excruciating pain. A few months post op, I’m getting calls from a collections agency for a bill that never came through the mail or called about from the clinic.
