Deck Helmet

I had over $7K in deck helmet services/paint applied to my homes deck, retaining wall around pool and pool maintenance shed. This was applied 5yrs ago and product is advertised/warrantied to last 10 years. Tried for two years to get warranty service accomplished because of peeling on ALL surfaces--no luck with anyone responding to warranty. Recently, I requested a quote for service and when they came out, they described that I needed to call warranty. After explaining I couldn't get help, I then requested a quote to repair failing/peeling paint. The surfaces were allowing water in and rotting my wood. They supplied a quote for labor and said product would be free due to warranty (that was good anyway). I then decided to take the option to receive (4) of (5) gallons of product that was promised for free. When delivered there was only one gallon. I ONCE AGAIN called warranty to...

Fast, professional, and provided a great product!

Not sure where these positive reviews are coming from because the Better Business Bureau would prove different. I cannot express enough how disappointed I am in this company and their product. Last 10 yrs they said! Water Resistant they said. That was a little over 4 years ago. After 3 yrs the wood they replaced started to rot and the coating pealed in many areas. I contacted them, they never get back to you, they will email you back eventually saying that the warranty covers send a tub of coating, a brush and maybe sand paper, but not replacing the rotting wood they installed, the pealing coating that was supposed to be water resistant and it is not, nor the labor if you want them to re-do it. I would have to pay almost as much as I paid to have to the work done initially to have it redone. AND when they ran out of coating on the initial job they went to Home Depot to buy more....

We used Deck Helmet about two years ago, and we have a wooden deck that needed to be updated. I can't believe that after two years, our deck looks like we never even did anything to update. Also, this company is very overpriced and the retouch DOESN'T LAST. Getting a new deck this year. What a waste of our money.

Deck Helmet just completed restoration of our 900 square foot deck with Trex. The railing was also replaced and a drainage system was installed to cover the ceiling in the patio below. The job was completed as scheduled at the cost remained as quoted by the company’s owner. Mario, the installer and his assistant are excellent craftsman and pay attention to every detail. They are reliable, meticulous and trustworthy.

My deck looks amazing! I would recommend this company without reservation.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - UTTERLY UNRELIABLE

If I could give Deck Helment negative stars I would. I waited for an appointment for nearly 2 weeks. On the day of my appointment, a technician called me to confirm he was on his way. He was rude and patronizing as I explained to him that I wanted to meet to discuss upgrades to my existing deck. He told me he would instead cancel the appointment and would provide me an estimate after viewing my house via satellite imaging. I repeatedly told him that I'd like to keep the appointment but then was HUNG UP ON. I texted and called him a few times before he finally picked up and agreed to meet with me between 3-4pm that day. He never showed up and at 3:54pm I contacted the Deck Helment Office to inquire. The Office didn't know why he would have cancelled and moments later said "his truck was towed". I wasted my time waiting...

Where to begin, 1 star is too good for this. This company is a shame.Supplies are from home depot, you can purchase for less expensive and hire a handyman to do the workhey drive up in this purple vane, should have been clue #1. Talk the good talk, get your money and it is downhill from there.
Please save your money and time and use a reputable company.
I used this company against my better judgement. The company owner is very arrogant and disrespectful. He just plainly does not care about the customer.
There were several mistakes made on my project, including leaving wood from my deck with nails sticking out in my front yard as well as all over the back yard. Among other issues. Excellent experience from the quote process to the end of the project. Communication was great. The project started on time, everything was done as promised with the utmost attention to detail, and the crew was extremely responsive and neat. I'm thrilled with the final outcome and would not hesitate to recommend / hire Deck Helmet again.
