Citizen Café Tel Aviv

Great way to learn Hebrew in person or online!! Amazing, engaging teachers, small classes with lots of personalized attention and an innovative approach that gets you speaking Hebrew in real life. I’ve done the live classes in Tel Aviv and the online class. Both were great experiences. I was amazed how easy the online class was. I felt like we were all in the same room. I made good friends with classmates, and Citizen Cafe offers lots of social activities outside the classroom. I’m so happy it exists. My Hebrew has improved dramatically. I highly recommend it.

I took the online ten week course, and I loved it! The teaching method is highly effective, and I learned way more than I would have in a standard language class. The instructors know how to tailor the lessons to your needs, and the homework does a great job of recapping what to work on. I went in without knowing a drop of Hebrew, and now, a little more than a few weeks into the second ten week class, I feel like I can carry on a conversation.

I got a lot out of the Citizen Cafe ulpan that I took over Zoom. The convenience of not having to leave home, the quality of the teachers, the well-matched level of my classmates, all contributed to making it a successful experience. I gained a larger Hebrew vocabulary and had a lot of fun doing it. The range of activities from talking to listening to reading, to watching Israeli news and reality TV, was excellent.

Citizen Cafe has been an amazing learning experience. The teaching method is what makes it unique. It's not about the quantity of words you learn, it's about teaching you the right words, giving you confidence to speak in public and having fun all the way. Efrat is a brilliant director of Hebrew. Teachers are all great and extremely committed to your success. I could not recommend it more. And did I say it's soooo fun?!? Love you guys :)

I highly recommend this Ulpan! I finally found a teaching style and class environment that works for me. Their teaching methods are so creative and it really works. Other ulpans simply didn't work for me but Citizen Cafe just seems to get me. Every teacher is outstanding! The small groups encourages active participation and creates a really nice social environment. I've been studying with Citizen Cafe for 9 months consecutively now and both my confidence and Hebrew has hugely improved. If you want to learn Hebrew in a fun and creative learning environment and meet some awesome, Citizen Cafe is definitely the place!

Best Ulpan ever! I took both group and private lessons, and learned to actually speak Hebrew in less than half a year!!. The method makes learning fun and the teachers are great, especially Nim. Unfortunately I had to go back home, but I love that I can continue my lessons online so I can keep learning until I come back. Apart from learning words and grammar, i gained the confidence to speak, which helps me communicate with friends and family in Israel. I highly recommend Citizen Cafe!

Citizen Cafe TLV was the best choice I could've possibly made while living in Tel Aviv and I'll tell you why:
- the classes, from the absolute beginner level (red) to the conversational intermediate (green) are fun and fast paced. There's no such thing as textbook-bound courses that's not useful at all. The learning method is exactly the same as when you were a kid, learning your own language: you speak! And by speaking, repeating and learning day to day topics, you improve so much faster! It was amazing to see all the things I tried learning from textbooks finally making sense and becoming sentences in my head!
- the hourly rate is cheaper than the regular boring, never-ending ULPAN daily courses. You go to CCTLV twice a week (more if you feel like having one-on-one catch up lessons) for 3 hours total and the teachers and techniques are so awesome you build enough...

I've studied four languages in my life and I've tried all possible ways to do it. So far "Citizen Cafe" is the easiest way to feel the language and to overcome my fear to talk. I know how to learn grammar rules, how to dig information about word's origins but I've been always frozen in front of native speakers. "Citizen Cafe" helped me!

I’ve been in many Ulpanim and Citizen café was the one I enjoyed the most and the only Ulpan that gave me the confidence to speak. After joining this Ulpan, everyone told me my Hebrew improved a lot! Also, here you learn to speak like a local - words and slang people are using today.

Citizen Cafe is a very unique Ulpan experience. I’ve learned so much over the past few months with their method of teaching. I have become more confident in speaking Hebrew and my vocabulary has grown exponentially. I completed one course at Citizen Cafe, and I will be continuing with their Ulpan.
