Citizen Cafe is the best Ulpan I have ever been a part of. Their teaching technique is amazing for actually learning how to speak and understand Hebrew. Their classes are small and intimate so you're never overlooked, and their teachers are all fun, warm and engaging. Their staff is super professional and so welcoming. I always feel comfortable and confident walking in because their staff makes a point to know our names and know us on a more personal level so I always feel at home there. I also feel comfortable reaching out to the teachers to ask for help or even to ask questions that are not about our class and they are always happy to help me. Their staff is always asking for feedback and working towards our needs, and they are always putting forth the most effort to create more options and solutions to satisfy them. I came to live in Israel with very little Hebrew. I tried to learn Hebrew through the funded government programs, but it was not working for me. I saw an add for Citizen Cafe TLV through Instagram and decided to give it a try. I AM SO HAPPY THAT I MADE THE DECISION TO JOIN CITIZEN CAFE!!! I have improved my Hebrew tremendously and gained the confidence to speak everyday conversational Hebrew and learn local slang. Citizen Cafe not only teaches you relevant Hebrew, it is done through a teaching approach that embeds vocabulary into your memory in a fun and easy way. All the teachers are incredibly kind, caring and really support their students. I highly, highly recommend giving them a try, it is completely worth it.

Citizen's Cafe is hands down the best Ulpan I have been! From their in person classes and now to the online format I really can feel my growth in Hebrew. Since being on unpaid leave, having the online courses really has kept me motivated in learning Hebrew. It's been so much fun to learn virtually and it's improving my confidence to speak in many new ways. I used to have so much anxiety about talking on the phone in Hebrew, and I definitely can feel my own improvement. I am so happy to be a student as this wonderful Ulpan! I love going to Citizens Cafe, because on leaving class I can slide much more easily into Hebrew conversations with my Israeli friends and I can relax when the conversation switches into Hebrew - as the form of the language we are learning is exactly how Hebrew which is used day to day. Suddenly those sentences I hear all the time and couldn’t understand make sense!

They are really good at getting rid of the old forms or Hebrew you get taught elsewhere, and which gives you away immediately and guarantees a reply in English.

The lessons are conversational and dynamic and when I look down at the end at my list of new words, I’m surprised how many new things I have in my learned. As the classes are recorded, I like to listen back once or twice afterwards (whilst washing up or organising the house), which is an awesome way of reinforcing the class, and after...

Great and fun courses according to your language level! I took the ONLINE 10 weeks course. You really learn the Hebrew you need for your daily life. All the teachers are quite relaxed. Can only recommend this Ulpan!
