Citizen Café Tel Aviv

I have taken two courses at Citizen Cafe' so far, after trying 3 other Hebrew language schools in Tel Aviv and Netanya, and this is by far the best way to learn with an innovative method and with fun teachers who are absolutely proactive and supportive. I’m in my second virtual semester at Citizen Café and I’m having so much fun learning Hebrew and making new friends. My teacher, Rom, is the best and the method works. I’m learning to speak, read, and write Hebrew and I really look forward to my classes and practice sessions.

After two years of regular Zoom classes with Citizen Cafe, I can say that it's the most exciting, fun, convenient, and fast way to get from "getting cold feet when you hear someone addressing you in Hebrew "(two years of self-learning with the textbook didn't get me far 😅) to being able to express yourself, understand the conversation around you and even get a surprised "opaaaa" from locals, who didn't expect a foreigner to know all that tricky Hebrew slang 😀

Absolutely in love with this course and all the teachers: no boring textbooks, everything is live and always fun, and a lot of talking in the class and practice group. You get a reasonable amount of homework, enough to review all the material, but it doesn't take an eternity to do it; you learn things you can use daily... (and the list can go on an on and on :))

My Hebrew journey with Citizen Cafe began in March 2022, and I was literally speaking Hebrew in the first lesson of my first class! I'm now in my 6th semester, and I can't believe how much more confidence I have.
Simply put, Citizen Cafe has given me so much more than I ever got from other Hebrew classes and schools. The method is the "secret sauce". Small classes lead by world-class CCTLV trained teachers, who are really invested in our success. I can not say enough good things about my Hebrew learning experience at Citizen Café Tel Aviv. I started my journey in the Fall of 2020 when I signed up for my first online Hebrew course (Orange Level). I was not sure what to expect and, to be frank, I was a bit apprehensive. Today I continue to learn with Citizen Café and enjoy every minute of it (Indigo Level).
The teachers are all wonderful! Enthusiastic, supportive, patient, funny...The system is very intuitive and based on natural language learning. The emphasis is on understanding AND speaking day-to-day Hebrew not on dry grammar and senseless repetition.
Thanks to Citizen Café I am now able to understand podcasts, TV shows, music, and real Israeli-to-Israeli conversations. In other words, my new Hebrew language skills allow me to connect to Israeli culture like I dreamed.

After spending years trying to learn Hebrew by myself and not really getting anywhere, I finally took the plunge and joined Citizen. I've learned far more in 3 courses than I have in the last 6 years by myself.
Their method was very different and it's a LOT of speaking, but that's exactly what's needed for day to day life in Israel. It's improved my confidence massively.
