The language learning strategy Citizen Cafe takes is excellent especially for people who have previously sat in the traditional lecture-format Hebrew class where you learn the grammar, vocabulary, and syntax but not necessarily have enough space or time to practice the language conversationally. This is where Citizen Cafe comes in. They fill in the holes that the typical lecture format comes with by drilling the language into your muscle memory so that you don't even have to think about your response because your mouth can simply spew it out automatically!

Moreover, the "modern" Hebrew I learned before Citizen Cafe didn't include Israeli slang. That obviously won't get you anywhere in Israel. So I am very thankful for the dynamic, hip Israeli teachers at Citizen Cafe who can truly complete my Hebrew education!

Citizen Café furthered my Zionism by giving me the keys to access the beauty, charm and sophisticated language of the Jewish people. Speaking Hebrew connects simpleton me to all the great heroes of the past; from Moses to Theodor Herzl, from Eli Cohen to Yoni Netanyahu.
