I started learning Hebrew with Citizen Cafe about 1 year and a half ago. I came as a completely blank slate and I can now hold a full conversation in Hebrew. The teachers are amazing and very involved and the lessons are super interactive. There’s never a dull moment. I can’t say enough about the value of the Citizen Cafe experience. Their teachers are terrific: fun, patient, and knowledgeable. Their techniques are very effective: speaking, speaking and more speaking (using zoom to allow everyone to constantly speak on mute even when you are not the student called on), learning new concepts and vocabulary and building on it in a logical way every lesson. But what is truly unique about Citizen Cafe is the community they have built. You make friends from around the world in every class, as well as in the free practice sessions you can drop into several times a week. If you want to learn Hebrew the way Israelis speak it on the street, in a fun and supportive setting and meet great people in the process, this is the place!!!

I have studied hebrew at universities and Ulpans, but Citizen Cafe's technique is so much more effective and different than traditional methods of teaching hebrew. It focuses on speaking comfortably and fluently, learning how Israelis speak day to day, instead of studying verb conjugations and memorizing vocabulary. And the teachers are all wonderful, engaging, and fun.

The guys started the sale perfectly, I talked with the manager, with the teacher, with another manager, and after the call they promised to send me all the information by mail and whatsapp, but there was no information on the same day or the next. 20 days have passed and still silence. I have been studying at Citizens Cafe TLV for about 2-1/2 years. I was looking for a fresh approach from the traditional Ulpan method. I have had amazing teachers, and my proficiency and comfort with Hebrew has improved a great deal. Zoom classes are surprisingly engaging, the teachers are inspiring, as are my classmates.

The teachers make the most of every moment. There is a lot of interaction, speaking and engagement. The curriculum is well planned and calculated. There are clear goals and one feels the progression and the building of knowledge, vocabulary and skills with each class.

I just started a new semester and am enjoying it tremendously. If you really want to learn Hebrew and have fun, and get over your shyness about speaking, I highly recommend Citizens Cafe TLV!
