Citizen Café Tel Aviv

Having forgotten absolutely everything I learned in Hebrew school as a kid, Citizen Café has been so helpful. I never thought I’d learn as much as I have in such relatively little time.

The teachers are incredibly nice and patient with the students. I recommend this class to anyone who has an interest in learning Hebrew :)

Eli had a great experience with Citizen Café Tel Aviv

The Good: The class itself is fun and Michal and Ron are excellent teachers. I like the constant repetition of common spoken phrases.
The not-so-good: the time zone problems. The Us students in our class constantly struggle to figure out when the practices are. I believe that the monthly schedules should show both IS and US times on the calendar to make it easier for classes that are predominantly US-based to know when practice are.
Intitial Assessment: The intake / skill assessment interview felt very rushed to me. He seemed a bit eager to
“ Get it over with” and I think that feeling rushed definitely had an impact on what I remembered during the assessment as a result I was put in a lower level
Class.
Nice to have “advanced study” options - more one-one conversation speaking practice for the student with the teacher. Perhaps, additional study...

My Hebrew has improved by leaps and bounds in only one semester. The focus on speaking and listening is extremely effective. I also like the fact that we are learning common, everyday expressions that I had never known before. The classes are fun and I look forward to them.

Citizen cafe is a great place to learn Hebrew and make new friends in the process. They are professional without being judgmental. Mistakes are welcome and encouraged to help you learn. The teachers are outstanding, patient and really caring.
