The owner contacted me and explained what happened - I really appreciate him reaching out.

I understand that they had only one person available. Still, I called twice and left a web contact message once, each time I was told "someone will get back to you shortly". When no one contacted me after more than a week, I left the first (negative) review and made an appointment with another company.

Telling a client (who has paid an annual membership) that someone will get back to them and then not getting back to them is not OK.

They do good work. If they had contacted me at any point, even if just to say "call us back in two weeks", I would still be a client.

The company is still in business. They do excellent work, just be advised that they may not return your calls if you contact them...
