I found water damage in one of my rental properties and was shocked to find out that there was water damage to the new bamboo wood floors. There were no apparent obvious water leaks but in two rooms the wood had severe damage with the wood literally rotting away, buckling in some areas and just water spots in other areas. I had no idea who to call and a plumber suggested American Leak Detection Company. I had nothing to lose and set up an appointment. I must have had a guardian angel looking out for me because 2 days later Milton Sanchez showed up (on time) for an inspection. Milton carefully and precisely explained what his approach was going to be. I agreed to a one hour inspection to see what he could initially find and then we could discuss his initial findings and see what would be needed after that. Let me tell you....Milton was incredible at what he was able to discover in one...

I engaged ADL on June 17 to carry out a leak detection at the above address (my house)
I was told by the lady answering the phones, that if the house had non sleeved pipes, they would be able to pinpoint the leak but if I had sleeved pipes, they can only identify Point A and Point B. I have sleeved pipes but they only identified point B and not Point A. I could have done that myself as I had already had some tiles taken out to have a better look at the pipes.
I feel they have not delivered the Service that I paid for. I called Diane, the lady answering the phones and on the last call, she advised that she would pass this matter to her Manager, who would call me back. He has not. Any subsequent calls to the company are not being answered. I have tried at least four times.

Jose Estrella was awesome, he came out on time, took the time to explain everything and actually let me hear where the issue was. Once he found the issue he then took the time to check the rest of the house, explain what the fix will be and offered to mark the pipes if I wanted another company to also come give a quote for repair. Most companies would never think of doing this but these guys are so confident in what they do the prove it by acknowledging anyone can come give a quote and stand behind their work.

Overall, the experience was disappointing. The company was highly recommended by a neighbor and we contacted ALD to find a small leak that was slowly expanding at the ground level. We ended paying $800 just for the leak detection (2 trips) and we ended up doing half of the job ourselves, ultimately uncovering the nature of the leak (in-ground pipe sleeve). We would have left a better review if management was more responsive, but, after being promised some consideration by the managers, we were left to paid the full amount ($800) for a job 1/2 done. The quote for the fix (a bypass of 16 ft) by the in-house plumber was $3K and after a couple of calls to other plumbers, we were able to have the same job done half the price. We would not recommend this company.
CHANGED TO 1 STAR: ONCE WE STARTED THE REPAIR, WE REALIZED THAT THEIR DIAGNOSTIC WAS WRONG!!! a different issue was causing...

They found the leak! It was under the slab by the bathroom. Only took an hour.

Very professional. In and out in less than hour. Found the leak and explained 3 possible ways to fix and recommended one of them.

Called them three times and never received a phone call back!

Diane was very knowledgeable about what to expect from their services and Nick is an outstanding manager. I had a plumber telling me that the reason my water bill was so high was due to an underground leakage and a second plumber confirmed it . BOTH professionals gave me AMERICAN LEAK DETECTION to locate that leak.What the chances of this if they were not the best in their field .
This morning the technician located both leaks and gave me a detailed report with pictures.GREAT COMPANY :)
