I had just moved into my house this past winter and in the summer wanted our boiler looked at because I had smelled a faint smell of gas in the house above, so I wanted routine maintenance done knowing it hadn't been done the year previously, which I told the scheduler on my call. The tech showed up, explained a few things to us about the system, didn't seem to realize I had asked for maintenance on it and proceeded to try to sell us on a membership, even though he couldn't even remember everything it included. I asked what the routine maintenance entailed and asked him to do just that. He said the price would be $289, but he could "probably" waive the service fee, since I had scheduled the maintenance specifically, but he had to call and ask.
