My daughter loved her time at West Hollywood Children’s Academy and still often asks to visit “her school.” She started when she was two and spent three years there. It was always very nurturing and she was always exited to go. She made so many friends, a lot of whom she still meets for playdates.
I felt they were very collaborative with parents. My little one was beyond prepared for Kindergarten. She was fully reading and her kinder teacher was amazed at how proficient she was. She had also mastered simple addition/subtraction.
I also loved that she had exposure to other languages. We only speak English in our home (my high school French is pretty bad, and her dad’s high school Spanish is only somewhat better) but the exposure to Russian (she can’t speak it, but she understood quite a bit) as well as the weekly Spanish lessons, has kept her language pathways open, which is helpful as she’s now in a dual-language (Korean) program at her Kindergarten.
They kept the schedule fun with things like ballet, yoga, zoology and music. And the play area in back is very well suited to the children’s size/abilities for that age. She learned so much, but if you ask my daughter, she thinks she just played all day, which is what childhood should be about.
My daughter loved the good home cooked food they served (especially the soup, which I am not able to re-create). I was spoiled by not having to worry about meals and snacks for three years and miss that.
Strongly recommend this school and I’m so grateful I found it for my daughter.
