A simple and efficient approach to collecting those time consuming customer stipulations. Once your client logs in, they answer a few simple questions and your report is quickly created and ready to share with your lender. The cost of the program can easily be offset from the incentives the lenders give for using Turbopass. The program works wonderfully, but only if your client knows their online bank log in information, and the bank is represented through Plaid. Large national banks like Chase, TD, and Key work effortlessly and will provide customer's banking statements, address, phone number and more. Smaller local banks, online only banks and credit unions are trickier. From my experience, a customer used a local bank and although they were able to log in with Plaid and generate a report, the report did not list their address. Luckily, the lender I was working with, Westlake Financial, accepted the Turbopass despite the address not being listed and funded the deal anyway.
The program is ultimately quite helpful, although far from perfect. If your client does not have a bank account or if they do not know their log in information, Turbopass is essential useless. With that being said, it's not for every single client, but what is? The clients that can be helped will be quite pleased that they didn't have to leave, go home, and dig through their junk drawer for their last bank statement or dig through emails for a direct deposit pay stub.
The potential this has for eliminating stipulations and streamlining the car buying process is limitless and essential now that customers can simply buy a car from their couch. Hopefully as Plaid begins to accept more banks and as the imperfections are ironed out, you will be left with a powerful and essential tool for selling vehicles. I'm happy I got in on the ground floor. :)
