I used TriState moving company to move from a 1BR to a studio apartment on Nov 27th, 2022. They gave me a quote of $595 (+$40 moving insurance) to move 11 furniture pieces & 10 boxes, the biggest item being a full sized bed. They ultimately charged me more than double their quote upon completion of the move- with me paying $1367 for my move.
I could understand an estimate having +/- $200 margin of error, but to have the quotation be doubled plus is just dishonest and an overall scam/ rip off.
Their movers are slow in their packing relative other moving companies I have used in the past, and it took them 30+ mins to move between apartments for a drive that took me 4 minutes, and when U asked the driver why they took so long she lied and said there was traffic on road.
They refused to off load your items until the payment is made in full, very well knowing that drastically under quote and then jack up your final bill.
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND TRI-STATE MOVING COMPANY to anyone. As a matter of fact I will advise against you using them.
The are just robbers and con artists. I also regretted my experience with them and will NEVER EVER be using them again.
