My husband and I had a wonderful experience. We have a few comments regarding our experience.
1) I am not certain how the airline seats were booked, but we were not initially sitting together. We were able to switch seats on the outbound leg but did not move quickly enough on the return to grab two open seats. If a couple is traveling together, this should be confirmed.
2) While an experienced international traveler, I know we have to be flexible. The itinerary sent by Lizzy was not close to what actually happened. We were notified we should check the Facebook Group for daily updates. I had to forward the Facebook posts to a woman who did not have Facebook. In addition, hosts did not post consistently.
3) The final hotel was supposed to be the Raddison. It is my understanding the local tour guide, Al, had the Jaal Riad Resort hotel on his list but our hosts did not. There was a delay in the check in due to some room discrepancy, which after a long drive, was a little tough. Thankfully, my husband and I were able to switch (with the hosts) to a king bed without involving the front desk. I was surprised by the lack of coordination with the local host and the Travel Divas hosts. There should also be a two night stay in Casablanca and a reduction in the multiple 4-5 hour bus rides.
4) On the morning of our departure, when we arrived at the airport, I was shocked to find out that we were on our own. Thankfully, when our boarding time continue to get delayed, Sandra did intervene and speak to someone about getting us all checked in separately. I would have expected the trip host to stay involved and lead the group back to the US. When I inquired, Diana explained, “You are on your own”. Given the role of my understanding of a Travel Divas host, they should escort us back to our original departure city. Overall, the trip was an amazing experience and we look forward to experiencing some couples trips in the future.
Thanks
