Words can’t adequately describe the incredible joy I experienced on the Ghana trip from December 26, 2024-January 5, 2025. My sister Becky and I went on this trip together to celebrate her 70th birthday. We are the last two standing of our immediate family so our sentiments were deeply significant. This was my first Travel Divas trip but hopefully not my last. I have lots of good memories including meeting so many amazing divas from across the country. It reinforced my belief that there are way more good people in the world than bad. I developed lasting sisterhoods. The impact of going to Cape Coast and Elmina to see the Slave Dungeons, the Door of No Return and the Ancestral River brought history to life. I went home to Ghana for my ancestors because once they left on the slave ships they were never able to come home again. Our Travel Divas hosts Reesee Hoffman and Muriel Smith were fantastic. I know that a lot of behind the scenes work went into to making this trip so special but they made it seem effortless. I love the way they were constantly taking and posting photos. If you missed a shot you could most likely find it on facebook. They were compassionate and responsive to our concerns. Our local Ghana staff was wonderful and made sure we were all safe, hydrated and supplied with the basic necessities. They also had a great sense of humor. Morris’ famous words “Let’s go!” kept us on schedule. Irene made sure everything was on point for us. The Kempinski 5 star hotel lived up to it’s reputation. Thank you, Thank you and Thank you again Travel Divas for a magical experience.
