I had horrible sciatica down my left leg for 2 years and I tried every possible treatment option except acupuncture and surgery. I thought I had piriformis syndrome but, then after taking an MRI I saw my L4-L5 had a level 3 disc protrusion and my L5-S1 had a level 4 disc protrusion aka those 2 discs were severely herniated.
