The person who took care of me was Arvin when I went in for a appointment to get my hair dyed! I asked for a peek-a-boo style, the color for that was a raspberry fruit like color and Arvin DELIVERED that perfectly for me. He treated me so well and made me feel comfortable. It’s been awhile since I went to a professional salon cause the last time I had gone to one.. the person who took care of my hair and cut it made me cry LOL. This experience at ML2 was amazing, I’m so grateful for Arvin’s talent to make my hair look exactly LIKE HOW I wanted it. This salon is superbly located beside Great Wall supermarket in Chinatown, which is extremely convenient! It goes without saying that their service is impeccable as it is almost always crowded. I went for cut and color, with my hair stylist , Kathleen, who is very attentive, friendly and also provide many good suggestions to what kind of hairstyle and hair color suit my looks. I had the best experience at HL2 Hairdressing! Before this appointment, I had virgin hair!! I never colored or dyed my hair. I was very nervous but excited about this new change.

The staff at HL2 were soo nice and reassuring. When making the appointment, I talked to Debra and she was so nice and walked me through the process.

The studio is very nice and well-maintained. I had the two best stylists helping me with my hair. Daniel started off by giving me a slight trim to cut off all the split ends. Then, Kenny came in to do the coloring of the balayage.

As it was my first time getting my hair colored - ever. I was very clear that I didn't want to bleach my hair. Kenny and Daniel were very understanding of my wishes. Also since it was my first time doing anything to my hair, I wanted to keep it more natural and subtle looking.

So, so happy with my ash brown balayage done by Michael!!!!

During the initial consult, he talked me through each step of the process, how long it would take, and gave me a price range before anything was done. I felt this part was especially thoughtful because I know of other salons that charge you after the service and slam you with an unexpectedly high bill.

Even though it was after regular hours, Michael took so much time and care when bleaching and working the color into my hair. He provided excellent conversation, and the time flew by. He also checked on my comfort multiple times throughout, and the fact that he still styled my hair after the entire process (close to midnight!) speaks volumes about his work ethic.

My first visit for this salon was nice! I haven't gotten a haircut ever since the pandemic, so I decided to finally get a haircut. Lillian was my stylist, she is very nice and I loved the services. For my second visit, I wanted my hair dyed for the first time so I came back for the same person, Lillian, and I loved my experience. Daniel made sure my very first hair salon experience was amazing! The target hair color I was looking to achieve was dark blue. Given that I have black brown hair, bleaching was necessary. The process took 5 hours, but it was a very pleasant experience. Had a great conversation with Daniel the entire time. He had severe allergies that day, but he was a trooper and did an amazing job. I have received several compliments of the hair color. I am very satisfied with this experience at ML2. I will definitely return for trim and color with Daniel. Thank you for all of your hard work!

Update: 4 weeks later. Blue hair is hard to upkeep. Though the color faded quick, Daniel was kind enough to recolor it back. Second time around, the color is deep and beautiful. Thank you again! Will be back! Read more >

I haven't had my hair cut in over 2 years and coming into ML2 I was very nervous since I've had long hair for a long time, I didn't know what would look well with me.
I brought some pictures to show to the stylist and Rick (absolute god send of a man) guided me through all his thoughts on what would and wouldn't work with my hair type, I naturally have thinner hair. Rick taught me about styling, how to use hair product, and he was also great to joke around with. If you're making big changes to your hair, don't feel afraid to ask and ask because Rick ( and ML2 as a whole ) is always patient and here to make sure you have a good experience.
