We highly recommend SSA-Kaka’ako infant room! Our daughter joined when she was 4 months old. We’re new parents and the thought of leaving our child with someone other than us for the work day was scary. We were probably more nervous than she was, and the staff were so understanding. We went to the required orientation for 3 mornings to ease the transition. Staff encouraged us to drop in to see how our daughter was doing or call if we wanted during the day.
On our first day there were many tears...from us...not our daughter. The staff were great. Ms. Lei, Ms. Dee and Ms. Renee understood and provided much needed support!
The teachers in the infant room would update us every afternoon when we picked her up. I’d get an update in the morning when I’d drop her off. Anytime I wanted an update or had a question, I knew (and they reminded me) they were just a phone call away. Updates included how she’s progressing, what she enjoys or finds interesting, different activities she does like painting or singing, etc. The staff are kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. They showed so much aloha to our ohana.
Our little girl was so excited to see her little friends and staff every morning when we arrived. It felt good to see her comfortable at daycare.
The infant room is in the back of the building, so you walk through the secure entrance then 2 other classrooms. Everyone (Ms. Cheryl, Ms. Kirin, the teachers for the other rooms) would greet us with a friendly smile and say hi! They really made us feel at home.
We’d like to express our sincere gratitude and aloha to the teachers in the infant room- Ms. Dee, Ms. Lei, Ms. Shannon, Ms. Christie, Ms. Alofa, and Ms. Renee, the director Ms. Kirin, and her assistant Ms. Cheryl.
We love SSA-Kaka’ako! We miss them dearly. We moved to the mainland at the end of March when our daughter was 10 months old. We definitely recommend them.
