I wanted to take a quick moment to pass on a big Thank You for bringing the Lifeonaire class to the SJREI community. I participated in the class in Feb 2018 and it had an immediate and profound difference in my life, and in my family’s life.
In the 3-day workshop, I was able to remove myself from the endless ‘To Do’ list that my life had become, and discover not only what my ideal life would look like, but how to ‘rig it’ (so to speak) to make it actually happen.
The two main principles in the workshop (for me, anyways) were about debt and happiness.
The first was about the debilitating trap of debt. The only debt our family has is our mortgage….but our mortgage is controlling our life. It has determined where we live, the type of job we have, how often we can take time off work, and how we spend our free time. I always thought that a bit of debt, especially a mortgage, was a fact of life, but the class opened my eyes to the possibility of a debt free life and the freedom and opportunities it would allow.
The other principle was about structuring our life for happiness. The workbook in the class was deceptively simple and surprisingly effective – we spent hours in the workshop writing (and crossing out and writing, over and over) out what is important to us, developing a Vision Statement, and then creating a calendar filled with what we love to do.
Many wonderful things have happened since doing the class, but the main two are that my husband and I have started the process to re-structure our mortgage to have it paid off soon. The relief that this has provided to both of us has been profound. The other is the amount of focus and attention I am able to give my daughter now that I’ve removed all the distractions. We laugh together, bake together, read together, hike together and after six years of being a mom, I am finally the present, happy and fun mom I always wished I could be.
