In May 2019 we had an electrical fire that started from an exhaust fan in a bathroom. Though the physical damage to the bathroom was not so extensive, the smoke and ash that went through a large part of the house was just as big a problem. I have a disabled daughter who has a trach and breathing issues and so remaining in the house while the problem existed was not possible. State Farm insurance has a contractor program and so through that we were referred to SERVICE MASTER to clean the house from the smoke and ash. Other contractors were also sent through the program. We received a call from Mike Fairbanks almost immediately and he made an appointment to come out within a day. He arrived when he said he would and was friendly and knowledgeable about what needed to be done. He arrange for another service to clean items like textiles and electronics and coordinated their efforts also. His team was always courteous, came when they said they would, completed the job as they had estimated, informed the building contractor that the cleaning was finished and they could begin restoration. It was nice to walk into my home and see some normalcy returning. He also arranged for the cleaning service to return and hang the drapes. They went the extra mile beyond what they had to do. Mike made himself and his team available, returning every phone call and text. If there were any problems, even minor, he took care of them immediately. When his team cleaned , returned and rehung some of the blinds I told them how much we appreciated the work they did and how much we appreciated SERVICE MASTERS professionalism. They in return commented on how much they enjoyed working with Mike Fairbanks and SERVICE MASTER . They also spoke with pride of the different things they had worked on in the house. It was nice to have people here that took pride in their work and represented the company with excellence. Unfortunately this was not the same experience that we had with other contractors involved with the job. We had to fire one company. It is hard to deal with a loss of this type and then having to deal with hassles and problems from companies being paid to help make things right. We appreciated working with Service Masters and never at any point did we feel we were being taken advantage of. instead we were taken very good care of through their hard work, professionalism, pride in what they do. I would definitely use Service Masters again and would refer them very highly.
