I have been doing Functional Medicine since 2007. Well back then they didn't call it that. One of the main reasons I chose Dr. Wannigman he ia a Pharmacist first! He has a better understanding of prescription meds and their effects. What he and his team have done for me is something that I thought was not possible. I have Hashimoto's ( thyroid ) and Type 2 Diabetes, losing weight was so hard but keeping it off even harder. Several years ago I started a weight loss program and it really help. I was able to go from 230 down to 185. It was costing me roughly $300-$400 a month. When I went off program I only gain 15 lbs back. Those 15 lbs just hung on for ever. I knew there were things going on inside my body, I was 62 and menopause was a real thing. I had hot flashes, brain fog, short tempered, irritable, lack of good sleep and basically just a negative person. I truly felt so bad for my husband, he did not deserve any of that. I did't like myself.
I found Dr. Wannigman's video and I watched it. the first thing that I really liked was I didn't have to travel!! My visits could be done from the comfort of my home/office. 2) all my labs would be included. 3) My supplements were included ( if I needed any ). It was perfect and he was a Pharmacist, not a Chiropractor or a medical Dr supplemented his income but someone who has seen what Dr's are prescribing and what the long term effect were.
My health was more then just a prescription to fix one thing but cause an effect somewhere else in my body. I gave myself 6 months with Dr Wannigman and his team, if I didn't see a significant change, I was out.
I have been on full program for 12 mos ( + - ) I have now moved into a maintenance program. I am happy to report I am 183 lbs, I have energy, no hot flashes, sleeping way better and I am not bad to be around. My A1C is 5.9/6.1 and my thyroid issues improve monthly. We all have choices, money is a big factor with most of us. If you look at some of the small things you buy, add those up for a month. See what you spend, you may be very surprised. We made some sacrifices at home so I could justify going on this program, not anything crazy but we put my health first! Do you and your family a favor, talk to the team, see what they can do for you. You owe it to your self and your family for better health.
