MCRM Fertility

I had a long, long road with Mcrm. Over 14 months of treatments, IUIs and IVF, and ended up switching to another clinic. I do not recommend this clinic for many reasons:

-poor communication. They would wait until 6 pm to send instructions and wouldn’t respond to messages for days. Even after I complained it didn’t make a difference.
-they overcharge - my clinic now bills insurance and I pay HALF of what I was paying out of pocket at MCRM for a transfer
-their scheduling is awful. They batch people into rounds claiming it’s better but then they use it as an excuse for why they don’t communicate well
-they are dismissive. they told me I could go back to work the day after my retrieval. It hurt to walk for almost a week. When I messaged my nurse how much pain I was in, she said it was “normal”.. During my second retrieval I had a different nurse give me meds to help calm everything down from overstimulating everything. Why wasn’t that an option the first time? It could have saved me a lot of pain.
-Dr. Ahlering doesn’t care… they don’t explain things. Why a financial counselor was helping me make clinical decisions is beyond me. We decided to make embryos from frozen eggs which I found out from my new clinic was not the right decision at all. But how was I supposed to know? And I made that decision with zero input from the doctor.
-after my first embryo transfer failed and I did a consult with Dr. Ahlering, he gave zero explanation. He said “sometimes it just happens and it doesn’t work”… he didn’t give me any options or try to figure out why it didn’t work. His suggestion was to go into another transfer. The appointment lasted 10 minutes and I immediately started seeking out a new clinic.

Please just save yourself the trouble and avoid this place. This was my experience during three rounds of IUIs and two rounds of IVF. I’ll never go back and I’m so glad I left.
