MCRM Fertility

My husband and I tried for seven years to have a child with no luck. We are both in our late 30's and we knew time wasn't on our side. My current OBGYN referred us to MCRM after year five of having no success with getting pregnant. However, we were hesitant about contacting MCRM because we knew that the clinic was four hours away, the fertility treatments would be expensive, and it would also be time consuming. Another two years passed by, and I decided to bite the bullet. I so desperately wanted to be a mother, and I knew this was our only hope. I contacted MCRM and got the ball rolling on our fertility journey.
After the initial consultations, tests, and bloodwork, we were given the green light to proceed with IVF. We met with Dr.Ahlering, discussed any questions we had, and he gave a positive outlook on our future. I tried not to get too excited after the consultation, because the rollercoaster of emotions in fertility can be daunting. The next step was to talk to the financial department. This was the part I was most nervous about. I knew our insurance wouldn't cover the cost of infertility treatments, I knew I wanted to be a mother, but at what expense? I went into the meeting with cold feet. To my surprise, MCRM offered multiple options on the IVF packages, and they also offered several options to acquire financing. After choosing the IVF package we wanted, we applied for financing, and everything was smooth sailing from there on out! MCRM handled all the medication orders from the pharmacy of my choosing, they made sure I understood all directions, and they always let me know what the next step would be. Everyone at MCRM was nice and they seemed to really care about each individual's story. I wasn't treated like a number, I was met with genuine friendliness and care from the staff at MCRM.
Dr. Ahlering is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to infertility and the treatments involved. Dr. Ahlering's personality and demeanor also made me very comfortable with him as well. Thanks to his God-given abilities, we were able to conceive, and I am currently 16 weeks pregnant! It all still seems so surreal, as I never thought I would be able to say that!
Looking back, I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to contact MCRM and start my fertility journey. However, I'm excited for what the future holds, and I look forward to seeing everyone at MCRM again when we continue to build our family!
