Three of us ate lunch at the Marina on Monday. It was rather disappointing; no lobster for a lobster roll, the portion of She-Crab soup was very stingy, the service was slow, and construction vehicles had parked in the reserved spaces for Marina customers. Not bad, but not great. The Marina Grill has an incredible location with water views overlooking beautiful yachts. Very solid beer and cocktail menus. Service was amateurish. Food was more Outback or Chilli's.

Lacks vibe, management and staff training. Outside can be nice but could use some sun shades. Food is okay but they applied a steak house multi servers show and not one offered us a refill. When we asked for refills the server wanted to confirm and asked if we would like another round! I hope they didn't charge us for refills. Especially that its lemonade from concentrate!
There are plenty of good restaurants in Wilmington and I feel it's a shame this awesome location is neglected by its owners. Read more >

I just wanted to take a moment and share my experience I had there today. It was wonderful! We had Alan as our staff member. I have a few food allergies and I informed him of them and he didn’t get frustrated he when some (not at this restaurant) have in the past. He looked over what I was looking at to double check that it wouldn’t create issues for me. I was grateful! The place was delicious on top of the amazing staff! We went before the Chicago concert and ate outside. This was her first time at this restaurant. Most of our party totally enjoyed the shrimp platter. It was cooked to perfection as well as the fries being crispy.

Although our waiter was anxious to please, he was a little slower at bringing out the requested condiments and water pitcher. I don't know if it was because we were eating outside or if it was a lack of staff, but at least he showed up to work. Most people seem to be very appreciative to their waitstaff, and are generous tippers.

Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because I received sporadic attention at best from the bartenders. They took care of the locals and regulars but as I was by myself and not a known commodity they bypassed me on several occasions. Read more >

Very disappointing experience. Last time there, I was 5 minutes late to my reservation time and had to wait for another table because I didn't arrive on time. Today, Saturday, Marina Grill did not except reservations, so me and my friends "got in line" and for one hour looked at reserved tables that were empty for an hour and host kept telling us that we cannot he seated at numerous empty tables because they were reserved, and she confirmed that they don't except reservations for Saturdays so go figure. She and another lady that was answering phone were rude and didn't hide how annoyed they were by us asking questions. We left after an hour wait and empty tables still weren't seated. Fiance and I ate there for a casual lunch together about 2yrs ago, absolutely loved it. The view and atmosphere were amazing. However, this evening I called to make a reservation for my mothers 50th birthday, and had a male employee answer the phone with "we're busy as hell" and hung up. That right there was enough to make me never come back. Being a server myself, for over 10yrs now, also having worked in numerous different pace restaurants from fine dining to fast food, this act was enough to make me never want to return to this establishment.
