Hummingbird is one of the best daycares we have used for our children. We started with a different daycare when our oldest son was one and left them due to lack of communication with the teachers and director when he was two an a half. We searched around for daycares and found hummingbird, they restored my trust in daycares again. They have amazing teachers and directors, our oldest just stared kindergarten and youngest was only there for 11 months but I would definitely refer them to anyone looking for a trustworthy bunch of people to watch their children.
Miss Martha created a strong learning foundation for my son this year! Ellie, Jessica & Heather were ALWAYS there to support in any way possible! Loved the great ending with a ceremony, performance and special video! Thank you Hummingbird Learning Center! ❤️❤️❤️
Our son attended for just over a year, and loved it! From day one the owner and the entire staff were super caring! All of our parenting choices were supported and accommodated (ie: cloth diapers, feeding schedule, & donor breast milk). The use of their app was a great way to stay connected to him through out the day. They didn't just play all day. They have lesson plans and activities which we appreciate more than we knew! We would recommend this center.
Knowing that your child is in good, loving hands is priceless. Hummingbird is a wonderful and caring environment for children.
Love that my son is in such a great environment with teachers that love and care for him! It was so hard for me when I brought him the first day and my heart was heavy that I couldn't be home with him. Hummingbird learning center was a God send! My almost 1 yr has amazing social skills and loves going everyday to see his little friends and favorite teachers. Now I can't imagine him not being there.
I know I am bias because I serve Hummingbird Learning Center right now on staff as Assistant Director, but I love this place. It 's a delight for us to serve our wonderful parents and awesome children ! We are the Hummingbird Learning Center family ! :-)
Such an amazing place! I feel so lucky to be a part of the wonderful things happening at hummingbird learning center, and in the lives of all these little people!
On May 8, 2014, I was called by Mr. Brett Williamson (Acting Director/Owner) of Hummingbird Christian Learning Center. Mr. Brett Williamson explained to me an incident that allegedly involved my four year old son Amaure and two other students in Brett Williamson’s facility’s care. He explained that ALL three boys were being told to leave for the rest of the day as recourse of action for their defiance. Amaure, Javin (five year old) and Walker (five year old) according to Mr. Brett Williamson locked themselves in the school restroom to play, when Mr. Brett Williamson and the teacher tried asking the boys to open the door ALL of them screamed NO! Mr. Brett was forced to open the door. Upon my arrival to the Hummingbird Learning Center my son Amaure was sitting in the director’s office awaiting my arrival. I explained to my son the severity of this situation and that he was in BIG trouble. Mr. Brett Williamson and I spoke about disciplinary action in this matter which, Mr. Brett Williamson nor I would come to an understanding on. Since we did not see eye to eye Mr. Brett Williamson told me May 8, 2014 would be Amaure’s last day, giving me as a working parent no time to find care for my child. I told Mr. Brett Williamson this was ok. I told Mr. Brett Williamson that I needed a refund for care from May 9th through May 19th which had been prior debited from my bank account. He stated to me after I signed his Letter of resignation I could have the remaining $199.85 electronically sent back to my bank account this same day. After reading through the letter Mr. Brett took forty minutes to write even after I explained I needed to rush back to work, it stated “ I Tiffanie Griffin am deciding to remove my child from Hummingbird Learning Center care May 8th 2014” which was incorrect. I told Mr. Brett I had given him Amaure’s two week noticed as discussed in the Hummingbird Learning Center handbook and that he decided not to accept this and made May 8th Amaure’s last day breaching the contract. I told Mr. Brett Williamson I will not sign a false statement in which HE TOLD me it was my son’s last day. I feared Mr. Brett would come after me for breach of contract for not giving a two week notice prior to removal of my child is the reason I did not sign this letter. He then told me I would not get a refund of $199.85 unless I signed his resignation document. I told him fine I will seek legal advisement in this matter. After leaving I later called Mr. Brett asking for a copy of the resignation letter he typed earlier. He stated to me he was recording our conversation as instructed by his lawyer and proceeded to say to me that I had three option that I could choose from to resolve this matter. 1) Amaure could stay in his care until the 19th because it had been prior paid 2) Receive a refund of $199.85 to my bank account and we cut all ties with each other 3) sign his resignation letter and receive a refund check in the amount of $199.85. I explained to Mr. Brett that I would accept option two and that I still needed a copy of the letter he typed. He stated he would make the electronic transfer and send the letter to me by email along with these options and that I would need to print out the email circle my option and sign it. After two hours went by, I did not see any refund by electronic transfer or the letter. Since the learning center was on my way home I decided to stop by to ask about the refund and the letter. I had my phone recording our conversation as I spoke to Mr. Brett which he explained he was able to have a conversation with the other students parents that were involved in this incident, my son Amaure was trying to do the RIGHT thing and get out of the restroom, Amaure had nothing to do with the actions of these other students. He proceeded to tell me while in the restroom my son Amaure was held down and his mouth was covered by Javin so that he could not say anything. He then apologized and reiterated the options (which he changed) to me 1) Amaure stays in the facility’s care under their care since he was not involved in the incident 2) I sign the resignation letter and receive an electronic refund for $199.85 3) sign the resignation letter and receive a check in the amount of $199.85. I advise Mr. Brett there would be no way I would leave my son under his care and that I would still not sign his letter. I asked why there locks on the restrooms when there are inquisitive four and five year olds here and no children over the ages of five? He stated to me because they have co-ed restrooms and it is government law. Mr. Brett Williamson asked me if he could read the revised letter to me under the impression he was being recorded. I told him there was no need for that he had wasted enough of my time with this matter that my son was not even apart of and I would like my refund so I could leave. Mr. Brett Williamson asked me if I was recording our conversation. I told him yes! He recorded our previous conversation so I am recording the current conversation. Mr. Brett Williamson then told me to get out of his office. I asked about the refund, he stated to me “these option are now null and void”. I told him I would not leave until I received my refund. Mr. Brett Williamson called the police on me to have me removed from his establishment. As we waited for the officers to arrive to state our stories Mr. Brett lied to the officer and then asked the office for a restraining order to prevent me from coming back asking for a refund. I am a single Christian mother trying to care for my son. There is no way a child care center should have been able to refuse my son care for an incident that he did not take part in. Now, I am refused my remaining balance of $199.85 to pay for child care to another facility to care for my son. God Bless.
