I was impressed that the company sent someone out in person to give a quote by taking complete inventory of our items. Unfortunately everything else about this company was a huge and expensive disappointment. They showed up 5 hours late with only one truck instead of the 2 that were quoted. Because there was only one truck, it required them to go back to the old house for a second load which cost us an extra 2-3 hours. They broke 10 plates that were packed tightly in foam inside a box that I placed fragile stickers all over and wrote kitchen glass on every side. They also broke my jewelry box (the leg and the top). I still have not received a response to my emails about my broken items. The movers worked hard but the management of this company is seriously lacking. If I could do one star I would. I was in Dallas helping a friend with a move and everything seemed fine, appt was confirmed and they seemed to be on top of it. The movers were scheduled to arrive between 7-9 am but didn’t show until 11 with zero communication. The actual employees were great and hard working, however they worked until very late because towards the end they had to unload and repack the truck adding extra hours to their day. When both trucks were finished we went to a hotel and didn’t find out until 2am that one of the trucks didn’t show up at the new house! On the second day when that truck finally arrived with BOTH REFEIGERATORS needless to say all food had been lost. We booked with Green Van Lines earlier this month for a June 29th move. They called to confirm the day before stating they would be there between 7-9 am. On the day of the move they did not show up until 11 am, two hours past time. The crew did a good job of moving, but were not done until 8 pm. The last hour they had to remove and repack the entire truck adding an extra hour to the move. During transportation one of the two trucks did not show up. We were not informed of this until 2 am. The second truck had our two refrigerators on it. This lead to all of our frozen items to be defrosted and then thrown away. The 2nd truck was supposed to arrive between 8-9 am the following day. From Rocky in Sales, to Michael who came to the houses for the estimates, to Guy who coordinated our moves (we moved two houses at once), to Pedro who led the packing/moving crew, we literally have no complaints. They have ALL gone above and beyond with professionalism and joy! Everything went smoothly and everyone was polite and professional. Just to mention, the floor in the main living area wasn't covered thus causing some scratches on the wood floor and some tile damage on the garage floor when removing washer/dryer. Steve and his team were excellent. Paperwork clearly explained and all questions were answered. Pick up was completed efficiently and all of my belongings were handled with care. Kind, patient, and hardworking! Quoting price was accurate and honored. Would definitely recommend using GVL as I will be using them again to complete part two of my move in a few months! Very pleased with my pick up experience.

UPDATE:

My belongings were picked up May 11th. I was promised clear communication. Disappointed. Countless voicemails and emails left unanswered and ignored! My delivery date was scheduled for May 22nd. It is now May 29 and I have not heard ANYTHING from this company since my pick up on May 11th. PLEASE RETURN MY CALL/ EMAIL! Misty, I would like an update. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
