I came to Free Body Physical Therapy about 4 months ago to deal with some lingering muscle pain from a left shoulder dislocation that I suffered from years ago. I experience chronic shoulder dislocation on both sides, so I'd already been through the PT circuit with IBJI to deal with multiple dislocations.

After a few sessions with Marissa, it became clear to me the poor quality of care I was receiving at a large firm like IBJI. Marissa was able to give me plenty of hands-on, one-on-one attention. I never felt before like I knew exactly what I needed to do to heal correctly and decrease the likelihood of future dislocations, but Marissa made sure to educate me on all the individual muscles in the rotator cuff that we'd be strengthening and how. I started going to Free Body Physical Therapy one week after a severe ankle sprain, and 2.5 weeks before a backpacking trip I planned with my dad. I had just gotten out of a soft cast and I went in with a goal of giving myself the best shot possible at going on this trip. I truly did not think I was going to be able to go, but with the help of Dr. Marissa Nemec and Free Body PT (as well as a supportive brace), I was able to complete the 27 mile trip with 35 lbs on my back. With further work after my trip, I am now back to walking, running, biking, and climbing without additional support or pain.

I came into Free Body PT having never done PT before with a spiral fracture in my tibia and fibula. To say I felt at odds of making a full recovery and feeling normal again at the beginning of my journey is an understatement. I came into Free Body on crutches and left 5 months post op being able to squat with weight, lunge, and all of my goals checked off my list. Dr. Marc is the GOAT to put it simply. He helped my student athlete son recover from a significant knee injury last summer. His attention to detail, hands on approach and thorough follow up is impeccable. He stays connected to his patients throughout their entire recovery process both in and out of the office. After years of on-again, off-again relationships with working out…and years of shoulder pain as well…I finally spoke to a personal trainer friend and my primary care doctor. Both recommended physical therapy. I knew I wanted to visit a place where I was not just a number or viewed as their cash machine with a pulse.
