As someone with chronic shoulder and hip pains from years of sports and running, (shoulder and hip labrum tears + hip labrum surgery) Free Body Physical Therapy was the perfect place to get not only quality physical therapy treatment but insight on what was causing pain and how to improve it. I started going to Free Body Physical Therapy one week after a severe ankle sprain, and 2.5 weeks before a backpacking trip I planned with my dad. I had just gotten out of a soft cast and I went in with a goal of giving myself the best shot possible at going on this trip. I truly did not think I was going to be able to go, but with the help of Dr. Marissa Nemec and Free Body PT (as well as a supportive brace), I was able to complete the 27 mile trip with 35 lbs on my back. With further work after my trip, I am now back to walking, running, biking, and climbing without additional support or pain.

I came into Free Body PT having never done PT before with a spiral fracture in my tibia and fibula. I apologize for the length of this…but it’s important to get the story straight the first time.

After years of on-again, off-again relationships with working out…and years of shoulder pain as well…I finally spoke to a personal trainer friend and my primary care doctor. Both recommended physical therapy. I knew I wanted to visit a place where I was not just a number or viewed as their cash machine with a pulse.
