I'm wowed by Michal's ability to analyze your problem and develop a creative and highly individualized exercise/therapy/rehab plan tailored to your specific needs. He's a great listener, endlessly patient, and offers tremendous support and encouragement through what can be a trying time when you're overcoming an injury. As a PhD medical researcher, I appreciate Michal's deep understanding of his field. He has an uncanny memory of the details of your case as you progress, and puts it to highly effective use. I've been going to Free Body for just shy of two months for a persistent pain/limitation in my legs, hips, and glutes. I began physical therapy at Free Body around September of 2022, after having experienced several months of intense upper back/neck pain. I'm a long-distance runner and triathlete, and I was nervous I'd be unable to train for the Chicago Marathon in 2023.

Marissa Nemec was a phenomenal therapist. Not only was she friendly and personable, but she also treated each session over an 8-month period with equal significance, asking detailed questions each time about my progress, pain levels, and what specific goals I had for myself. She explained, in concise terms, exactly which muscles we were working on and which symptoms each stretch was meant to address. I have been a patient of Free Body Physical Therapy for over a year, and I couldn't recommend it enough! As someone who used to visit two other larger PT clinics over the years for my ACL injury, Free Body sets itself apart from other clinics with 1-on-1 care that is both personalized and professional!

The majority of my sessions were focused on my left knee that had ACL reconstruction surgery and a later meniscus injury, but fortunately, the treatment from Free Body allowed my knee to heal properly without any additional surgical procedures. My knee has returned to full range of motion and is no longer swollen.

The care has been so excellent, that I now ask for advice about minor injuries that I used to usually ignore, where I now see near immediate improvements after 1 or 2 sessions, as well as get tips on how to prevent similar injuries in the future. Read more >

I am thrilled to have found Free Body Physical Therapy! I cannot recommend them enough. I started PT 3 or 4 months ago after developing some chronic shoulder and back pain that would not go away and was increasing in severity. I was in pain constantly and starting to wonder if it would ever go away: at work, doing very simple tasks, and even disrupting my sleep. All the stretches and exercises I tried on my own weren't working. I went in to physical therapy expecting a long road to recovery. But after two short sessions, Michael and Marc not only identified the source of my pain was probably from a previous illness but also did some targeted adjustments and exercises that alleviated my pain in ways I hadn't felt in months. I am originally from Turkey and recently moved to the US. I have been suffering from knee pain all my adult life and only achieved short-term results with PT before. I started searching for a physical therapist after my knee pain started affecting my mobility.

My pain started to become less and less obvious only after 2 weeks, and kept improving. Michal made an extra effort to understand the cause of and changes in my pain, not just in the beginning but every day that we worked together. He works with me and makes sure to set reasonable goals that work around my other commitments. Thanks to him, I feel more confident that I will retain mobility even after we are done seeing each other, which I think is the ultimate goal.

When I first came to Free Body Physical Therapy, I could barely walk or lay down without feeling tremendous amounts of pain in both my legs and lower back. Mundane things like putting dishes away, walking our dog Luna, and sleeping were major hassles and painful.

I was always afraid of physical therapy because I didn't know it it would work or how long the process would take to get me back to being physical again.

Loved my experience at Free Body PT. I was paired with Michal and he was fantastic. I came in with lower back/hip issues and within a month or so he had me feeling much better. He was very informative, personable and engaged in me feeling better. He was hands on when he needed to be, testing my muscles/range of motion and then he was excellent when it came to guiding me through an exercise regimen that helped me regain strength and confidence in my body. I will be back if/when I injure anything else. You'll be well looked after here and they won't be on you to keep attending and paying money when you don't need to. All round, great service. when i first visited free body, my neck pain was so severe that i found it difficult to perform daily tasks — even working from home was painful. after just a few sessions with marissa and michal, i was able to move much more effortlessly. everyone i interacted with at free body was so knowledgable and so communicative. they earned my trust right away, even though i was very hesitant about starting physical therapy in the first place.

I have been seeing Marissa for almost 5 months after being hit by a car and suffering a tibial plateau fracture and a humerus fracture. I was in a wheel chair when I first got there and now I’m moving and grooving without any assistance :)

I saw Dr. Marissa Nemec over a couple months for a nagging

I was involved in a pedestrian accident and although I didn’t break anything, I still had pain in my knee that was preventing me from having full range of motion. I went to see Marissa and in a matter of a couple of sessions I started feeling a huge difference. As a doctor myself, I have to be honest I was skeptical of doing therapy to get better. But my orthopedic surgeon referred me to Free Body and after a thorough assessment and one session of one on one therapy with Marc, I could feel a significant difference! Marc gave me exercises to do every day and they provide immediate relief and I can feel my back getting stronger each week. I went here to treat my back pain and related post-surgery ankle problems, after I had become frustrated with the assembly-line-like treatment from PT's like Athletico.
