I am super happy I found Marc! I came to him with years of chronic shoulder/neck pain and a few years long of post injury pain in the lower back and hip. In one session, my hip flexor pain that has been limiting my ability to walk, work and even sleep for upwards of 6 months, reduced in pain by 80%. One session. I almost cried. Wish I had not waited so long! Now we are working on shoulder and neck mobility and strengthening.

I did some extensive research on which PT provider to go to. I had been experiencing knee pain for over a year. Marc is one of the few that have FAAOMPT at end of his name, which means that he has not only the head knowledge but also manual experience for dealing with all sorts of issues. He was recommended to me by a friend who holds the same credentials (but lives in another state). Marc was incredibly thorough in his assessment and remained focused on getting me back to running, and gave me very specific guidelines for exercises that I needed to do in between sessions. I also felt like he didn't keep me there longer than I needed to be. Would absolutely recommend him and go back to him if I ever get injured again. So, I have a pretty beefy history with Sir Marc Guillen (He’s officially obtained knight status with me lol). I had rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder in May of 2014, Bankart Lesion to be exact. It’s where they reattach torn ligaments to the ball of the shoulder in order to prevent it from dislocating. I was recommended Marc for therapy on it way back when he would slap on the Vick’s like substance and chisel my shoulder and upper back into perfection. Painful as it was I trusted the man with the chisel and followed his instructions for exercise band work at home.

Hi! My name is John and I’ve been coming to Free Body for 2 months. My story started in August when I flipped over my bicycle and landed on my shoulder, leaving me with a broken coracoid process and a grade II AC joint sprain.

I was instructed to immobilize my shoulder for about a month, to allow time for the bone to heal.

After that month, I receive clearance to resume activity and start PT. I work in the IMD (Illinois Medical District) so I wanted someplace close where I can go during my lunch break.

My experience with Free Body Physical Therapy was great! I have had chronic back pain for a while so I sought treatment at Free Body. Their telehealth system worked great and I was able to get treatment that helped reduce my pain while staying at home during the pandemic. They had a strong focus on reducing my pain through building strength which I enjoyed because I was able to learn how to properly do things like squat and deadlift which I can use to continue to build strength even after treatment has ended. Earlier in 2020, I got a bad tear in my medial meniscus (as if 2020 couldn't get any worse!). This required me to get a meniscectomy knee surgery and I've been seeing Marc for multiple months twice a week to rehabilitate. I am almost fully recovered and I can honestly say that I wouldn't have been able to do it without Marc as my therapist. He and his team (Kenny rocks!) have created a warm and inviting atmosphere that I always look forward to coming too. And the best part about Marc is that he always laughs at my jokes (I'm not sure if he does this for all his patients but I'm going to chalk it up to my excellent sense of humor :)).
