I had an accident with some 91% rubbing alcohol while driving! I had forgotten about the air pressure from the heat and altitude, while reaching over to make sure the dinners didn’t fall on the floor of the truck I tapped one of the bottles and it exploded all over the cab and in my eyes. I stopped on the highway felt my way to the shoulder and started flushing my eyes with water. Most pain I ever felt in my eyes. Upon getting to the point of being able to sorta see blurry and still stinging I drove to the gas station by fountain hills to get some saline or eye drops. Upon asking Siri, what happens when you get 91 proof rubbing alcohol in your eyes, I was informed I should get my butt to the ER unless I wanted to go blind so I asked where the closest ER was. Luckily for me there was an ER six minutes away in fountain Hills so after putting in the eye drops, I was able to have a little less pain and blur and made my way to the ER, of course when I got out of the truck to go to the ER they started burning again. I managed to get in explain that I hadn’t set up my insurance, but I had insurance the lady behind the counter took really great care. She helped fill out the papers for me made sure I was seen. They took me right in. Emily helped me, told me what was gonna happen. Dr. came and gave me some numbing drops and all that was the best feeling ever. Then he checked my cornea to make sure there was no damage. He told me that I would be fine, but it would be painful and blurry for a little bit which it was they gave me some drops so I could get home. The next day I filled out my prescription to put the medicine in my eyes and it took about four days, but I’m seeing clearly now. They took me in really quick. I got the treatment I needed, very happy with the service. Hopefully I’ll never have to go in again but if something happens I’m glad to know they’re there.
