Flippin Cow

Loved it! Suzy is awesome! Warm friendly and engaging. Believe it or not, we heard about the flipping cow from people we met in Scotland. We come through Elkhart regularly and now have a favorite stop. Smash burgers were top notch.

Visited the Flipping Cow for the first time on Wednesday. Sat at the bar and were greeted by Hannah who was our server / bartender. She let us taste the various craft beers they had on tap and offered ideas for food. DW had the bacon cheddar dip with cow chips (house made potato chips) as dinner. Plenty of tasty dip and potato chips to make it a meal. I had the Bonnie burger with sautéed onions added. The burger was great with lots of mushrooms and onions. Also topped with oozy bacon cheddar dip-yum it was dripping goodness. It came with a choice of sides and I had tots which were perfectly crispy. It’s a cute place on the lake with great food and drinks. We didn’t have desert but DW had a coconut margarita she said was great. Hannah was on it the whole time making sure we were well cared for while slinging drinks for the whole restaurant. It’s a place to try in Elkhart IN.

Our server, Kyra, was on the ball. Fast, friendly service. Great burgers. Love their cow chips and cheese dip. Beautiful lake views from restaurant. We will be back.

Kyra was our server and she was wonderful. Cheerful and ready to help. I was ready for a good burger and we sure got one! The Stella Moo is the signature burger. I’ve never ordered a craft burger in my life. Never would I eat BBQ sauce on my burger. Today that changed. First the beef was fresh mix ground in house. I could tell after first bite. They had healthy stack of bacon and brisket topping the patty. Cheese and hay stack with perfect amount of bbq sauce. All between a brioche bun. Yes from first bite until my last I was talking to myself. This burger was fantastic. Yes it should be voted best burger in Elkhart. My wife had The Bonnie, a mushroom smash with a smooth cheese sauce. She loved it. Wonderful. Thank you Kyra for guiding me into world of Craft Burgers. Both of these meals come with fries or tots. Atmosphere, service & food were wonderful! We would definitely recommend the fish…it was phenomenal!! Had the fish in wraps & the fish & mojo basket. My family & I are trying a new to us restaurant every month, this was our pick for April. We have driven by a million times…so glad we finally stopped here. We were seated by a window with a beautiful view of the lake. This was a perfect casual dining experience.

First time here, and BOY WAS IT PACKED. Told we'd have a 45 minute to an hour wait but ended up about 20. The cheese nugs were absolute heaven with creamy mozzarella inside a panko bread and fried just right. I couldn't decide between the Hawaiian style burger or the mushroom one...so I got both. The Hawaiian burger had a sweet teriyaki glaze but not overly so and a grilled pineapple ring on a pretzel bun. Was amazing. Took the shroom burger to go! Wife had their fish and mojos and she devoured the whole plate. Karlee B took great care of us while a huge party of about 40 was in the room next to us. Even with that chaos she still checked in on us and was a very wonderful part of our date night. We capped off the meal with their elephant ear fries and caramel sauce and I'm now writing this from a sugar coma. 15/10 for this gem of a place in Elkhart and we'll definitely be back.
