It was cool, 2nd time I've been there.

What a wonderful experience. Brings back the nostalgia of the movie and playing catch in the back yard.

When you're driving across Iowa's backroads and you see a sign for this place, having forgotten that scenes from the movie were indeed filmed here, you can't help but stop in and take the mound. Great stop. Would do it again if in the area, maybe see if I can belt a homer. Bad idea. It would be a quick strikeout.

Seriously... it's the freakin Field of Dreams!! It's maintained perfect, the little gift shop is great. On a cross-country road trip this was well worth the stop... I loved it. It's been one of my favorite movies of all time and to go and see it in person, sit there on the bleachers, take some pictures and just laugh and have a good time with everyone else there was such a great way to take a little break from driving! Do yourself a favor, if you liked the movie... drive a little bit out of your way to make the stop!

Every was nice and very well maintained. They even had a guy in a baseball uniform in the outfield play catch with a couple of others. Restrooms were porta crappers. Full to the top and 90 degree disgusting.

A must visit if you've seen the movie and are passing through Iowa.

Nostalgic

Today, the sight is a ballfield, one that doesn't look a lot like what you see in the movie. It could disappoint. But, that is not the point. The movie made us smile. It made us dream, more than a little. It made us see that old family wounds can heal. You just have to dream it ... to wish it. ... to build it so healing comes. That is the reason to visit .... to dream and be .. and maybe to heal a bit.

Don't forget to walk out the corn field. THAT is one part of your visit that will not disappoint.

It is free to walk around, though there is a fee to tour the house. if you come to Iowa, stop by for a spell and remember.

We went after work about 7:30 pm on a Wednesday. We had the place to ourselves which was great for photo ops! Also, there was a summer rain shower brewing in the distance with the sun behind it, creating an awesome backdrop for photos!

The grounds and facilities were meticulously maintained, and the grass was freshly cut. I expected less for something from a movie from 1989, but was pleasantly surprised at how pretty it was.

My only criticism, which they have little control over, was that there was an endless swarm of little flying black bugs that would NOT leave us alone! I lived in the country for 18 years and it was never that bad! It definitely cut our visit short as we couldn’t take it anymore and left.

Definitely worth a visit if you’ve seen the movie and are in the area.

The area around the field is virtually untouched from when the movie was filmed. Beautiful place.
