We were here about 30 yrs ago when no one was doing the "pilgrimage". Well that has sure changed. Asking 20$ donation now. For nothing really spectacular. Nice to visit once.
I came thru on the way home to check out how it changed. And change it did.
The field is the same, but a booth at entrance now looking for the donation.
It was a week after the MLB game was there and they were dismantling the stands they put up. So I gotta believe MLB financed that. I am probably a little cynical. But now it's not the quaint little location for a nostalgic movie set. And MLB will destroy the quaint with good old American commercialism.

But still, If you have young kids and it's on your way to Chicago, Minnesota or South Dakota, stop. Fun for one visit.

I was at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, IA; on 8.12.21 representing Chevrolet - we were on the ground early for training & set-up - and had some time before the gates opened to check-out the field which was used during filming of the movie!

Just walking on that diamond seemed "magical" & everyone I came into contact with (including several members of the White Sox "Ghost Team") was incredibly friendly and hospitable!

If you're a fan of baseball OR Kevin Costner OR the film - GO!

The Field of Dreams site is a fun tourist attraction! I had been there in the mid 1990s and it's changed a lot since then. It's just outside the town of Dyersville, Iowa. They ask for donations for maintenance which we were happy to give. You can go in the cornfields, play catch on the field, take a tour of the house on the property (at additional cost), buy souvenirs at the gift shop, get some food and drinks from the concession stand, and just hang out and have a good time. Please note, you cannot visit the field where the MLB games are played since that is fenced off. It's worth the stop if you live near it or are passing through!

So sad to find out the maze was closed! But I still love the field,and my granddaughter loved running the bases.

For anyone complaining about the suggested donation, realize that the $20 price was in 1989 dollars so it should be $44 today.

This was a beautiful place to visit. Very peaceful. If you like the movie at all you absolutely must come here!

The place was awesome to look at you can go on the field,the corn,house gift shop which I did. I got couple cool post cards. And a guy that I'm going to guess volunteers there offered to take my mom and my picture together under the field of dreams sign on the fence,and then we walked towards the gift shop and he was already helping someone else take their picture❣👍👍

One of my all time favorite movies ! So blessed to have the opportunity to stand where so many actors,actresses,and athletes have stood . What a wonderful place to make a dream come true !❤
