I consider it my exceptional good fortune to have crossed paths with Austin Fair of Fenix Physical Therapy. After seven sessions with Austin beginning in July to treat my back pain issue, my quality of life has improved significantly in spite of numerous interruptions for medical procedures and vacations. I feel like we are just on the cusp of the progress that is in store for me now that I am starting to have continuity in my appointments. My story may be slightly different than the norm. Though I live in a golf community I am not a golfer. However I have suffered from chronic debilitating back pain for at least two years. My medical treatments have included kyphoplasty for a fractured vertebra and lumbar ablation for degenerative disc. The medical staff I was seeing were not proactive about physical therapy for follow-on care or prevention, let alone returning to the active lifestyle I once enjoyed, which was a disappointment until I met Austin. I had heard through word of mouth there was a dynamic young therapist who had helped many others and might be able to do me some good. Boy were they ever right! Austin's approach from the very beginning has been patient oriented. He clearly has expertise in back issues and he uses this skill to zero in on the patient's personal goals then develops a plan tailored to each individual to help them achieve those goals. In my case I missed being able to hike and bike and had lost hope I would ever be able to enjoy those activities with my wife again. After seven sessions with Austin I am happy to say that hope is restored. My mobility is improving with each session, as well as my flexibility and strength. He will do everything in his power to help you return to the lifestyle you seek because he is totally committed to his patients. I am 73 years old and was starting to think my active days were behind me. Because of Austin I am now convinced that I will have a full active lifestyle for many years to come.
