I've been curious about these efoils for a short while after seeing a couple of guys riding down Lady Bird Lake. I contacted efoil Austin about getting a lesson and they were super responsive. I booked a 2 hour lesson on Lake Austin with Howard; I was able to fly after an hour!
If you are at all curious about this sport, go with these guys. They know how to teach and their efoils are amazing.

I had an absolute blast trying this for the first time. Howard was super patient and a great teacher. In under an hour I was “flying” and able to make a few turns. We were out there as the sun was going down and it was truly one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve had in Austin. Howard got some great videos of some of my better runs with the city in the background at sunset. I would highly recommend using efoil austin if you’re interested in trying.

I have taken every opportunity to promote/recommend eFoil Austin since my brother and I had our private lesson this past weekend. The entire setup is idyllic. We glided across Lady Bird lake with downtown Austin making the perfect backdrop. Howard made the experience exceptionally pleasant; he was so laidback throughout the lesson, providing regular encouragement and only as much advice as we wanted. We were up on our boards in a short amount of time and had such a blast.

I've taken two lessons and I've never skied, skated, or surfed before in my life. I was concerned that this might not be for me but when I see other people efoil around Austin I always have a bit of envy. So I decided to give it a try. My instructor Howard guided me and coached me through my lesson. By the second lesson, I was able to stand on the efoil and glide over the water. It was so fun! I'm hooked now. I can't recommend it enough.

If i could give this review 100 stars 🌟 I would! This guy is super patient and calm. He is an excellent instructor, and just down right cool. Think karate kid's Mr. Miagi meets Matthew McConaughey all rolled into one person! I am definitely a returning customer! Love every trip out on the water! Ive done a few early sunrise trips too! So peaceful and very relaxing! But exhilarating if you want it to be! Would recommend!

What a fantastic day! I reserved this lesson with Howard for me and my son as a birthday gift for both of us. Mine is in 2days and his is next month. As my son likes to say’ “BEST DAY EVER!” Seriously, this is so fun and worth every penny. You get to surf on glassy smooth water with back drip of one of the greatest cities.

On to the lesson. Howard is a great teacher, you start with some brief instruction on land on how to safely start and then you are in the water. Howard communicates and coaches you thru the basics thru a headset built into your helmet. This way he was able to coach both of us the whole time and he is able to quickly zoom to either of us on his own board. We always felt safe and well taken of.

I highly recommend working with Howard. He had us standing and flying before half the lesson was over. He honestly made it easy. Thanks so much...

I was debating whether to take a date wake surfing or do this. I'm so happy that I chose this over wake surfing. It was way more fun.

Howard was such a great instructor, too. He was very patient and motivating. Also he does a lot more than instruct - he helps you get out on the water and if you wipe out, you aren't swimming to get your board; instead, he whizzes over and gets the board for you. I had a blast and I will be back to rent from Howard!

First time foiling EfoilAustin made the experience fun and seamless. My instructor was great at guiding me through what to expect and how to ride. I am really excited to go again soon! Highly recommend checking this out.
