Great kennel, highly recommend. We used Das Hund Haus of Lakeland to board our 5 year old German Shepherd. She has never been boarded before and as she is a rescue, she has always been fearful of people other than family. Savannah, Jill, and others (who I cannot recall names for) were excellent with her. We have not been to dog training in years but with a new dog that has a bit of unique character, we needed some help. Savanah was great with Pixel. We really appreciated the way she customized the class to each of our dogs and owners needs and did not apply a one size fits all approach. We worked on skills inside and outside and her tips on how to correct issues at home really worked. While Pixel (and us) are still learning, life at home is much better after going through 101 & 102. This place is amazing! I am so relieved I found Das Hund Haus. The first month with my Poppy monster and I was shaking and crying myself to sleep, JK - Not really :-) Amanda has been great with Poppy as her day trainer. Savanna has a new puppy foundations class which will blow your mind in it's simplicity but so needed when learning and engaging puppies. Doggie play and train is the BEST program ever! I made an appointment for my 14 year old Yorkie to be groomed. Bring in was 9 am. We were there at 8:45. During my phone call to make the appointment and at intake I said that he is not used to being crated. They assured me that he would probably be left to run in the grooming room.
We agreed that we would be there around noon to pickup after our Doctor appointment in town. We live in Lake Wales so this a drive for us but they agreed this was possible.
When I left, Button was in a crate with his blanket and barking.

When we returned, I was informed that they had not started on him and would call when he was done! Not acceptable. I went to the grooming room to get my pet. He was crated with a blanket completely covering his crate. No airflow, no water. There he laid the entire time we were gone.

I honestly wish I could vote for 0 stars. I came in the other day and I was picking up my dog after being out of town. The people at the main office were rude & didn’t greet and she never made eye contact. I told her I was picking up and she just nod her head and talked to me in a rude tone. Someone else came in with the same attitude she had and looked at us weird. When they brought my dog, he looked like he’s been peed on or been in his own pee. I’m not sure if they clean their crates after they’ve been locked in. He was only there for 3 days & has been acting weird around people. I wouldn’t go here again. Read more >

I was very disappointed. I took my 3 month old puppy for training classes. The trainer was very nice but the environment was not even slightly training friendly for a puppy. The trainer kept apologizing telling me that they were under going renovations (which I understand) but i think that it should have been. Rescheduled. We were completely surrounded by loud barking dogs that were being boarded. The trainer repeatedly shouted "be quiet" (like 20+dogs are instantly going to stop barking) She and I literally had to shout at each other to be able to hear each other over the noise of the dogs. And of course my poor puppy was completely distracted by all of the noise. The trainer had good tips but I feel that for the most part was a waste of time and as I said earlier...I think it should have been rescheduled until the environment was calmer and more training friendly... This place is nothing but red flags. Having spent some time in psychology and consulting with very successful dog trainers, people who understand how dogs function, this place is disgraceful. I went to a group class in hopes to continue my training with my dog with controlled distractions and quickly learned these people do not know about dogs or what they are doing. The day board is a big room with your dog in a cage all day, they get sprayed with water for barking. Their techniques cause reactivity rather than teaching your dog what to do. I could rant for a while I was so angry after one visit. Would never recommend, do not trust your dog to these people. Read more >

I have called them twice, in both occasions they said the owner will call back to answer some questions, she never called.
The receptionist and a new trainer I talked with were very nice, but couldn't explain what's the best option for my dog. They don't do free evaluations to determine what's best for each dog so you have to go blind and buy a package that may not fit your dog.
If your dog is good with other dogs you're probably good. For dogs with behavior issues, it seems like it's better to find a behaviorist or a trainer who's more open to listen and help. Maybe they are just too busy.
I can't say anything about the training itself as I wasn't able to try it. I just wanted to try because it was well recommended by a friend. I may try again after seeing a behaviorist, but not sure, I feel unimportant to them.
