My name is Keenan Gordon and I am the parent of Julian Gordon who is a student of Mrs. Sampson. This year I saw my son learn to read, learn how to do math and see him write his name clearly. She has had such a great impact on my son life. Thank you Mrs. Sampson.
We love Cornerstone Christian Academy. Our son has developed so much this past year in pre-k (Mrs. Nona) we know he will excel in kindergarten. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating. Our son loves the summer camp program as well and can't wait for it to start.
We love Cornerstone. We have Ms. Fitzgerald who is very involved teacher who pushes the student to be active and think on their own. Our daughter attended Cornerstone since kindergarten so we have great experience with all teachers. Our 4 year old is in Ms. Karese class and he loves her so much. She is kind, caring and keeps us involved. We love all pictures and videos Ms. Karese put on Class Dojo so all parents can keep up with all classroom activities.
This school is the best you are going to find in Lake Ridge, VA.I have visited every place that is suppose to be the best: Creme de la Creme, Goddard, St. Mathews (which is only part-time), etc. Everyone claims to be curriculum based but there is a difference between Curriculum vs Academic. This school is ALL Academics. Children sit classroom style and they learn their letters, blends of words, writing, languages, etc. My son started their 4k program at 4 years old and after a few short weeks, he can fully write his name on his own and knows the sounds of letter and vowel blends. He talks about what he is learning every day like contestants , vowels, etc. He also sings learning songs that encourage his memory. I was at the Goddard School - which definitely is not a bad school - but they were not learning vowels, blending contestants with vowels, not practicing writing their names, etc. I was also paying $320 more. At CCA, kids actually get an academic curriculum in which you have to pay a book fee at the beginning of the year. The books and learning exercises are top notch and my son looks forward to doing them at home with us and reviewing what he did in the classroom. This results in explosive learning. So in short, I can not express enough that this place is NOT A Daycare. It is a SCHOOL with chalkboards, desks, behavior charts, etc. If you want your child to be challenged, to fully be ready for Kindergarten, to be an early reader, then is the place for you. I do not see the value of a daycare environment at this age.
Back to school today...coffee, coffee, coffee!! Very nice school!
We really love Cornerstone, and their daycare sister, Precious Lambs. My first daughter attended from the time she was two until she started public school.... more
