Chubby Trout looks like it would be a horrifying Chili's, Applebee's, or similar restaurant, but it is actually not bad. They have a number of dishes with seared ahi tuna that they claim is flown in from Hawaii that are quite good. Very good service.

This was my first time dining at The Chubby Trout. The name was definitely a hook! I was in the mood for a good burger and Ryno’s Chubby was the perfect answer. Char Broiled Steak Burger stacked with White Cheddar Cheese, applewood smoked bacon, crispy onion straws & bbq sauce served on a toasted Brioche Bun. Wow! So good!! And the housemade potato chips on the side were really delicious!
Needless to say, I ended up taking home half of my order for enjoying the next day. This authentic barn-turned-grill pub is a great casual spot for excellent food and beverages!

The food is perfect. Best calamari I have ever had. The blue gill, which Amanda recommended, was the best fresh water fish I have had in a restaurant. This is my favorite restaurant in Elkhart. Every time I come to town I dine here. Amanda was awesome at recommending the food and took very good care of us.

Got q table right away a 7 on a Friday. Service and food were great. It was crowded and a bit noisy but great atmosphere

I really liked Chubby Trout. I ate their a number of times when I was working in Elkhart on a construction project. The food is excellent. My favorite was the Orleans pasta dish with shrimp, blackened chicken and andouille sausage. So incredibly good. I always requested sitting in Destiny W.’s section because she was excellent. Always friendly and kind and efficient. All of the other staff that served me were also very good. If I get back to Elkhart, I will definitely come to Chubby Trout. I would like to bring my family there some day. keep up the good work. Excellent restaurant.

Food is delicious, the service was amazing, and the manager Ashley is fantastic!!!
